This is one city that can’t be missed. Another great recommendation from my cousin, Sarah. Luckily, Lucca was only a forty minute drive downhill from Cardoso, so we made quite a few visits. WORLD’S SMALLEST REPUBLIC. I owe this adventure to my very own Father. He recommended we visit San Marino, if it wasn’t too far out of our way. He had fond memories of visiting during his stay in the Army, he was stationed in Vicenza back in the 70’s. We journeyed to San Marino from Arezzo, about a two-hour drive, but it took us three.
