The McGill 100 Mile Diet: Locavore 101
http://mcgill100milediet.blogspot.com/2008/11/locavore-101.html
The McGill 100 Mile Diet. From November 8th to 22th, McGill students Tim Dowling, Aynsley Merk, Johanna Paquin and Ian Vogel will be challenging themselves to follow the 100 Mile Diet; They will eat only food grown and produced 100 miles (160km) from Montreal. Monday, November 3, 2008. So I must say, this new term being a locavore has got me pretty excited! I had imagined Montreal would still apreciate qualitiy as a result of its French influence. We'll see I guess. Hey-sounds like a great challenge!

June 27, 2010. Posted by maggieknight in Une diète pour La Belle Province. Yesterday Nat came down with a cold, so I set out to Marché Jean Talon solo. Going to the market is one of my favourite things about living in Montréal. This is my favourite stall, perhaps because it’s cramped and full of a diversity of produce, perhaps because the man I hand my money to has dirt ingrained in his hands and can tell me where exactly most of his produce comes from:. Strawberries $16, Honey wine $10, Red wine $12.

I don't think we've had the occasion to properly introduce our tunnel yet, even though we've had it and used it (quite unproductively) for quite a few years now. So let's take the opportunity of a brand new plastic covering to present it to you (before it becomes dirty and starts to degrade). Many things, actually.

Making McGill a little tastier through urban gardening. Get in touch and get gardening! Why this is political. Gardening Tips and Resources. Why this is political. Gardening can be a super fun activity. We can grow food to feed ourself, our friends and our family. We can grow medicinal plants to treat ailments we may encounter. We can save money on fruit and veggies during the summer months. But let's not forget that this is also political. Who gets to garden? That operates out of McGill University.
