One Ugly House: February 2013
http://oneuglyhouse.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Last weekend we got the carpets installed! We are really happy with them, and so are the dogs :) I really like the color - it changes from beige to gray depending on the light. The stairs look soooo much better. I still need to put the new banister up, though! Links to this post. Family Room Built-ins Part 1. I'm actually pretty far behind with updates here. Silly me for actually doing work on the house and not having time to blog! I promise more updates will come soon. Here are the progress photos!

One Ugly House: June 2013
http://oneuglyhouse.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Lessons I Learned from the Half Bath Reno. 1) Grasscloth sucks to install. I'll write another post about this later. 2) Matt will probably never do a plumbing project for me again. 3) I'm pretty good at installing toilets. 4) I really hate caulking. 5) Finishing touches really make the room. 6) When you really need a stud they're impossible to find. 7) When you're planning not to use a stud, they're right there. Anyway, here are the before and afters. Links to this post. New Year Goal Updates. 2) Go thro...

Downstairs Hallway Board and Batten. For a while I've been obsessed with board and batten. I decided my downstairs hallway was the perfect place to try it out! When we bought the house the hallway was dirty and boring, but now it's pretty! I still have a few finishing touches to do, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out! Links to this post. One Ugly House: Stairs
http://oneuglyhouse.blogspot.com/2015/04/stairs.html
Disclaimer: I actually wrote this post a couple of months ago, but I kept forgetting to post it! I decided to start the new year off right with finishing a project that has been going on almost since we bought our house. I don't have many great photos of the upper stairs from before we moved in, but they weren't in the best condition. They were plywood, which had obviously been covered with carpet at some point, and then ripped off and refinished in an unattractive orange/brown stain. After the treads an...

One Ugly House: The List
http://oneuglyhouse.blogspot.com/p/the-list.html
Here is an inclusive list of everything we want to do to the house. Ever. I add to it fairly frequently, whenever I think it's getting too sparse. If we ever get done all of this then you can be sure the apocalypse will shortly follow. Repave driveway/add pavers to driveway? Clean up front flower beds. New street number sign. Remove bricks from edging. Remove dog house and build a new shed. Spread topsoil and grow grass. Remove bushes next to fence. Add landscaping around patio/deck. New back storm door.

Major Backyard Update - Part 2. I'm really happy with how much we've gotten done. We've definitely been able to cross a lot off of our list. Move a/c unit (this is the one thing we hired out - don't want to mess with Freon! Clean, sand, and stain deck. Fill cracks in patio. Build retaining wall around patio. I'm looking forward to next summer when we can enjoy the patio without having to work on it! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Major Backyard Update - Part 2.

This isn’t a sports blog so I won’t bore all of you foodies with the nitty gritty details, except to say I have been a huge hockey fan since I was a kid, I adored Mario Lemiuex. I only found a hockey stick and ho...
