College Lit Expierience: Caucasia After Thought
http://andrewleytocheramy.blogspot.com/2009/01/caucasia-after-thought.html
Thursday, January 15, 2009. I agree, this wasn't my favorite book either. But I thought parts of it were interesting and that it had good character development. I disagree about Sandy being portrayed as a stereotypical crazy white woman. There were a number of white characters in the book, and Sandy being on the edge was just a part of her character. Nicholas' mom, for example, seemed fairly "normal.". January 15, 2009 at 9:21 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Saint Elmo's Fire Controversy.

sand in your ear: January 2009
http://whimsicalwinnie.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Sand in your ear. Wednesday, January 14, 2009. Like Father, Like Daughter. When I was reading the end of the book, I was struck by the fact that Deck Lee was so into his own world that he couldn't take even a moment to find out what had happened to Birdie when he was Brazil. He was just so conceded on his own studies and his book that was about to be complete that he didn't realize how much she had changed. It saddened me to watch how he would pick his book over his family. That he truly didn't care ...

Hello, My name is Oliver! And you're reading my blog! Wednesday, December 3, 2008. After the first chapter I thought it might be more a historical book as well. It is also difficult for me to believe that he could be abducted by aliens, but there is a lot of evidence supporting it. I think the alien story is included in the book to give us more lessons about how time isn't that important and that we can never die. December 3, 2008 at 12:11 PM. Friday, January 16, 2009. I also agree with what she's been saying and your blog is so true. Ever since seeing this documentary, I've noticed this kind of thing more and more with men and women in advertisments. January 18, 2009 at 6:07 PM. Yes, it's very true women are targeted more severly than men. I never knew how bad you had it =[. January 19, 2009 at 7:43 PM. I liked the movie too. IT's really a reality check. sand in your ear: my race-AFRICAN
http://whimsicalwinnie.blogspot.com/2009/01/my-race-african.html
Sand in your ear. Tuesday, January 13, 2009. I do have a race, and I am shaped by it alot. When I first came to Mcfarland, it was very apprent that I was African. I felt it inside and out. When I started to gain friends and be more used to us, I was no longer black but white. The reason that race shapes me is because I have to break the traditional views that people have of me. I have to do better and be better. This is in other situations, not really at school, I sucks that I go through this.

sand in your ear: ...Colored Me
http://whimsicalwinnie.blogspot.com/2008/12/colored-me.html
Sand in your ear. Wednesday, December 17, 2008. This is one of the best stories that I have ever read about race. I liked Hurtson's view on her particular race. One of the lines that resinaded with me was, "I am off to a flying start and I must not halt in the stretch to look behind and weep.". I really liked this line for two main reasons. December 18, 2008 at 8:04 AM. I really liked this story too. It's really sad how a lot of people waste opportunities that are give to them to do something less pr...

sand in your ear: Sister Sister
http://whimsicalwinnie.blogspot.com/2009/01/sister-sister.html
Sand in your ear. Thursday, January 8, 2009. I definitely feel bad for Birdie. I think it sucks that she lost her sister. I think I feel for her more because I have a sister, that I kind of lost. I lost her in the emotional sense that we drifted away from one another. We also dont have the same taste in things. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). BYOB - System of a Down. http://myblognasandwhich.blogspot.com/2008/11/metamorphosis_26.html
Hello, My name is Oliver! And you're reading my blog! Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Change is happening everywhere. Little or massive, our actions are change, and our thoughts are growth. After reading Metamorphosis, I had a hard time finding the symbols for what I thought Kafka was trying to explain, and it wasn't until I learned he had tuberculosis. November 27, 2008 at 4:29 PM. Brittanya's Blog: Every Little Hurricane
http://brittanyasblog.blogspot.com/2008/11/every-little-hurricane.html
Thursday, November 20, 2008. The story "Every Little Hurricane" as of now, is my favorite story read in class. The metaphors and symbolic language created a fantastic depiction of alcoholism. I grew up with alcoholism. In my family, not as Victor in Every Little Hurricane. Did, but I still did. Can easily pass, just like bad whether. In the beginning of the story, when the Victor speak of his uncle's fighting, he says that they were "slugging each other. Damage. With a stranger, you're. However, the pers...
