Back on Friday 29th January I called my first ever ceilidh: a Burns night celebration for some postgraduates at my University. On Saturday morning, after watching a fairly spectacular thunderstorm we set out, armed with walking boots, marmalade sandwiches and a misleading map printout. A couple of days later I acted on a recommendation and rode the Bergbahn cable car up the Konigstuhl, a big hill on the South side of the river which has the castle on its lower slopes.
