http://interstellarknits.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 29, 2005. I took pictures of all the new projects last night, including my terribly exciting spinning. Posted by Alex at 8:51 AM. Monday, September 26, 2005. It's a good day here in the mountains! We're visiting so that Oliver can do a presentation at the university, and I came along for a vacation. Today I went up to Pearl Street. I managed not to buy anything at the Body Shop or L'Occitane. But that's only because I bought two kinds of shower gel and. My mom and I went to Sydney in ...

Interstellar Knits: February 2006
http://interstellarknits.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 27, 2006. From left to right, that's the llama, the alpaca, and my first skein of two-ply, 15 yards of white Corriedale. Plying was kind of a pain, but it took the extra twist out of my over-spun singles, and after I soaked and dried it to set the twist, it turned into this lovely fluffy soft stuff! We're having a kool-aid dyeing party on Sunday and I'm thinking of taking the rest of the white roving to experiment with. I start my new job on Wednesday! Posted by Alex at 3:53 PM. I promis...

Interstellar Knits: January 2006
http://interstellarknits.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 31, 2006. A little knitting activism:. My local stitch and bitch group was one of the many that received an order from Yahoo! Groups to change the name of our message board due to an alleged trademark violation. If you click on the button you can read all about the nasty company that claims to have trademarked "Stitch and Bitch" and has been making a fool of itself over the whole situation. We went ahead and changed the name to "snb" - we all know what it means. Posted by Alex at 11:18 PM.

Interstellar Knits: November 2005
http://interstellarknits.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 29, 2005. Great news: it looks like we have an apartment in Boulder! Considering that we're planning to leave in three and a half weeks (yikes! This is really, really good for my sanity. And it looks like a nice place: 3 bedrooms (that's a bedroom, an office, and a craft room! The bus and bike paths also run right past the yarn store. I have to send out resumes so I can get a job to support my yarn habit! Posted by Alex at 9:21 PM. Sunday, November 27, 2005. On the left we have the hand...

Interstellar Knits: August 2005
http://interstellarknits.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 30, 2005. Today's cloudy weather was making me feel like it's almost fall, which means it's time for. woolly socks! I haven't had a chance to go out and buy any KPPPM. But I know they carry it at Pins and Needles in town, so it's just a matter of time. For now, I'm learning to make toe-up socks with this handy tutorial. From Knitty, using some self-striping sock yarn I've had for a few years. I used the figure-8 cast-on and five #1.5 double-pointed needles. Posted by Alex at 8:38 PM.

Potential topics: Lendrum vs Schacht, physics of treadling, first skeins of wheel-spun yarn. Oops, time for more medicine. Posted by Alex at 7:58 PM. Monday, April 24, 2006. How awesome is that, and how well does she know us by now? Mine is the blue-striped one in the middle. Has documented the process; take a good...

Interstellar Knits: March 2006

Wednesday, March 29, 2006. Brought to you by the number 10. Because 8 sunflower seedlings plus 2 zinnias equals 10 tiny plants! The picture isn't great, hence the arrows for your viewing convenience. Perhaps tomorrow they'll be bigger and easier to see, and I'll figure out how to change the camera resolution.) Still waiting on all the other flower seeds, but it's only been four days, so I can give them some time. My time reading about adventure and intrigue in Egypt. You'll have to wait and see. FOUR JOB...

Interstellar Knits: October 2005
http://interstellarknits.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 31, 2005. As November is nearly upon us, I've set aside all other projects to work on the two that have actual deadlines in the next month. The scarf, which I just have. To finish by the time the movie opens, is now so long that it no longer even fits in the frame! And my crafts for the Bizarre Bazaar. Wouldn't it be cool if sewing machines had odometers on them, so you could know how many miles of seams you'd sewed? Posted by Alex at 7:46 PM. Saturday, October 29, 2005. I thought, hey, c...
