Friday, March 25, 2011. Wont go into park. 1997 Toyota Camry will not go into park unless I manually go under the hood and push the lever down. Whats wrong and how can it be fixed? Reply 1 : Won't go into park. Check the shifter and shifter cable that goes from the center console to the neutral safety switch (NSS). Check the neutral safety switch for binding. Check the manual valve the NSS sits on (the shaft the NSS rotates). See where the problem is. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wont go into park.
