After an unbelievably inspiring 24 hours in Vermont visiting BOOTH's previously showcased Braxton Congrove during her apprenticeship at Bread and Puppet Theater in Glover, VT - Otto's Abode could not wait to share a small piece of what we had experienced. On view in BOOTH are three original posters printed and sold at at the Bread and Puppet Museum. Much admiration for all that they do. Art Wakes Up Sleepers!

When squirrels approach a pinecone with intentions of consumption, knowledge of the cone’s anatomy proves a valuable partner in aid of discerning the difference between a morsel of desire and trash. Once chosen, the cone is torn apart; squirrel-chucked to the tone of shucking corn. Ingesting the edible seeds within and discarding the rest. Called a murl. It is called midden. Not a. Trash – just trash.

Back at my apartment, using a sieve, I separated the pure reddish dust I was hunting for from sticks and pebbles and other gutter debris that had been swept up along with it. I poured the smooth reddish dust in a glass jar and closed a lid on it. The sticks and pebbles went into the brand new washed and empty mustard bottle which I had recently purchased from my new local grocery store. A portion of this work was included in Heather Kapplow.
