Thoughts on travel – Personal itineraries (Pi)

The main reason I travel is to avoid being disrupted by routine. I despise routine. It smacks of repetition, rote, rectitude, religion and righteousness! How fabulous to wake up on the other side of the planet, actually excited by the prospects of a new and exciting day, not knowing exactly how it will all turn out and I haven’t been five for a long long time. Routine, rigour and rigormortis – the daily grind! I constantly disappoint myself. Where is my spine? It is has nothing to do with how you look, i...

We slept well. I was feeling a little better and the day was just glorious so we determined that we had to go out, after of course, I had done the washing. Were off to Oman. We asked her for directions and so she brought out the big gunsBob, who knows everything. In fact he was a wealth of knowledge and really happy to oblige us. He loaned us a map and gave explicit written instructions as to how to get to a variety of places and most importantly, how to get home again. Our delightful nest in Leysin!

Amazing new beginings… – Personal itineraries (Pi)
https://tripperround.com/2013/05/14/amazing-new-beginings
Amazing new beginings…. Friday. It was an interesting start to the day. In the early hours of the morning, Pierre-Alain and Pauline had become grandparents once again to a little boy, Anthony, brother to Luca. It was all very emotional. Pierre-Alain had to go to work but Pauline had taken the day off to be with us. She was the perfect host. Never mind, I did suggest the woman make cloth rattles for babies representing Australian animals. Could have fallen on deaf ears though! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

In the meantime we discussed the use of the cars- the choice- the Smart car, the Honda SUV or the new Jag. I admitted that although I would really really really like to drive the Jag we had to opt for the SUV as it was probably much easier to drive and park (the Jag is the big one! I actually think Gregor was relieved. I think the Jag might be his ‘baby’. Incredibly engaging, funny and interesting people with so many stories to tell. Ludolph and Anita who is pharmacist, does acupuncture and day care?

The Sydney festival of light, design and ideas. What a treat! The point of this excursion was to re-indulge in a bit of city life take in a night cruise and show and see what Vivid was all about. The best bit about this festival was watching everyone’s reactions particularly children. Lighting Up at Vivid. There was so much to do and see. Circular Quay was the centre of the nightly shows with the Opera House and surrounding buildings being illuminated. North Head – Manly BikeTour. The harbour is divine a...

It was important that Jennifer came too and Pierre Alain needed to go and see his brother who was in hospital and Jennifer wanted to see the bears and her uncle, so it was decided we would go together. We arrived at about mid-day and spent some time observing the bears, taking photos and marvelling at the old buildings. Amazing new beginings…. Our delightful nest in Leysin! December 2013 – Personal itineraries (Pi)
https://tripperround.com/2013/12
The main thing is to make one and stick to it. Decision 1: going to Europe 2014. Decision 2: aim at travelling light. Decision 3: avoid some of the peak season. Decision 4: travel August September. Have a plan. Know where you want to go. That’s a plan. So we went to the travel agent and came home with return flights to Vienna and a stopover in Bangkok on the way home. What the… Exactly how did that happen? Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email.
