Our Sweet Happy Home

Whats in my freezer. I'm pretty proud to say that after a couple weeks' work, I think I have enough food in the freezer to feed my little family (two adults and a toddler) for about a month after baby girl makes her arrival. That includes food for breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. And it doesn't include pantry staples that I'll also have on hand to whip up simple meals. Lately accumulating new recipes for us to try. Our Sweet Happy Home: library day

http://www.oursweethappyhome.blogspot.com/2012/10/library-day.html

We went to the library today and he picked out eleven books to borrow. It's always interesting and sweet to see what he picks out. Today's selection included a truck book, a couple of books about trains, a Busytown. Book, a Curious George. Book, and a book about a kid and his big boy undies. We haven't really been pushing potty training yet, so that was an interesting choice on his part. He also picked out The Little Engine That Could. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Our Sweet Happy Home: shoeboxes

http://www.oursweethappyhome.blogspot.com/2012/11/shoeboxes.html

With the holidays approaching, I've been thinking alot lately about how my little family can help out some good causes. A charity that immediately came to mind was Operation Christmas Child. To see where in the world they end up. So the bean and I headed out to a few places to pick out the stuff to fill our boxes. Here's what went into our boy's box:. Here's what went into our girl's box:. The bean even did some coloring to include in our boxes. Sweet kid. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Our Sweet Happy Home: March 2012

http://www.oursweethappyhome.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Taming my ribbon and fabric stash. My latest organizational undertaking has been to clean out and organize my craft closet. Eventually, I will be moving some of my crafty stuff (along with our desk) from the guest room to our master bedroom.but that's another post. So here is my new ribbon storage:. As you can see above, I organized my fabric the same way. Mesh basket neatly folded fabric and felt plastic basket for odds and ends = awesome. Spring is officially here! Has been on my to-do list for a while...

A Tale of Two Titus Tots: July 2015

http://matterintitus.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 7, 2015. We went to Isle of Palms last week for 4 days with the youth of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. We had a great time relaxing and playing in the sand and in the waves. We were very lucky that we didn't have any shark encounters (although we were right down the beach when THIS KID. Was bitten by a shark.) YIKES! The sunset was phenomenal as we walked back to the retreat center. Miriam was so worn out after the second day at the beach that she took a four hour nap! Not So Plain J...

A Tale of Two Titus Tots: September 2014

http://matterintitus.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Marvelous Miriam (16 months). In September, Miriam turned 16 months old. She is becoming fiercely independent and showing development growth each and every day! She seems to learn at least one new skill every day! Her new favorite sign is "more." She uses this sign a lot at the dinner table. This girl likes to eat! Her last 2 molars finally came in. Good grief, that was NOT fun (for her, or for anyone else in this house! She ate her first apple, and she loved it! Gotta love e...

A Tale of Two Titus Tots: December 2013

http://matterintitus.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 3, 2013. We were so lucky to be able to spend this Thanksgiving with our friends down the street. We have grown very close to them, and it helps that our kiddos are best friends! Frankie and Ashleigh were born the exact same day (20 minutes apart and in two different states) and Miriam and Tyler are 2 weeks apart).  It was so much fun planning our meal in advance, and then getting to spend the whole afternoon/evening with them! Seriously, don’t they look like they could be related?

A Tale of Two Titus Tots: October 2014

http://matterintitus.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 31, 2014. Marvelous Miriam (17 months- October). I know I'm so slow posting all these monthly updates.but I'm mostly caught up! In October, Miriam turned 17 months old. She likes to do things on her own. But she is happiest when she is right beside her big sis. This child loves to dance! Her arms start flailing about and she turns around in circles! She loves to say, "Hey Daddy! Her new favorite sign is "all done.". However, she has no problem sleeping like THIS when Mommy is around.

A Tale of Two Titus Tots: May 2015

http://matterintitus.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 24, 2015. We can go outside and play! It has been a long winter. We are elated to be able to go outside and play. FINALLY! Now that it is warm, we have something new in the barn. Here are Andrew and Hershey. The girls visit the "moos" at least twice a day. At Spring Fling in Mason. At Ashleigh's favorite park (aka. the wooden park). Playing near the lilac bush. It smells so good! Saturday, May 23, 2015. Ashleigh has had such a wonderful year of preschool! Come on, Michigan! Later that day, we...

A Tale of Two Titus Tots: March 2014

http://matterintitus.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 13, 2014. Sigh Is it spring yet? Marvelous Miriam: 9 months old. And just like that…it’s another month, and our precious girl is another month older! At her 9 month appointment, she was 27 inches long and 16 lbs 9 oz. She hasn’t gained too much weight since her 6 month appointment, but that’s because she spends all the live-long day doing this…. She is one busy little girl! At 9 months, Miriam…. Says a few other sounds, like ba-ba, da-da. Claps her hands when she is happy. Likes to chew (...

A Tale of Two Titus Tots: August 2014

http://matterintitus.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 31, 2014. Marvelous Miriam (15 months). Let's rewind a little bit and go back to August when Miriam turned 15 months old). Well, this child is up and running (kind of). She is starting to walk faster now, and I'm sure she'll be running soon. She wants to try to keep up with sister! She is getting brave when she is outside. She is walking up and down the big hill next to the barn. Pardon us: We needed an outfit change! She loves to chase the dog. (Poor Arden). She loves playing outside!

A Tale of Two Titus Tots: January 2014

http://matterintitus.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Miss Miriam is tired of staying still. She is on the move! Look at her go! She just started this on Monday! She will do anything she can to try to get to Ashleigh's toys. :). Friday, January 17, 2014. White (and icy) Christmas 2013. We heard the ice pellets hitting the windows all through the night that Saturday night, but we were still quite surprised to wake up on Sunday morning to see everything coated with at least a half-inch of ice! 160; (See that big limb on the ground?

A Tale of Two Titus Tots: December 2014

http://matterintitus.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 31, 2014. December Shenanigans (a random post). During Advent, we used the Truth in the Tinsel. Program. We really enjoyed doing that as a family. Each night, there was a small devotional to read and talk about together, and then the kiddos could make a craft or color an ornament. (We chose to color the ornaments because the crafts were still a bit too difficult for the girls). Ashleigh really got into this, and enjoyed learning about the Christmas story. It was quite gorgeous! It lit...

Updates for family and friends about our daughter's craniofacial surgery. Saturday, September 6, 2008. I don't even think anyone reads this blog anymore, but I thought the one year anniversary of Amelia's surgery deserved a post.). When Amelia was born and I found out about the need for her skull surgery, I scoured the internet for stories and blogs of other families who had been through similar surgeries.  I was always so amazed (and relieved!
