The photo above is taken at the De Young Museum during the Flowers to Arts exhibition in San Francisco, CA). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Started when I came to the States for a consulting job in the late 90s. It used to be a weekly email I sent my family and friends. In case you are wondering, Balita. Map – Expenses by Country. Find out what it costs to travel around the world. Eating 2 substantial meals a day instead of 3 one at midmorning and one in the late afternoon keeps both the weight and the budget down. Dining out can quickly eat into your budget. Scoping out local markets where they serve food or finding restaurants that cater to the local population can greatly reduce the amount you must spend each day. Eat where the locals eat, and don’t be afraid to try street food. Buy groceries more fre...

Map – Expenses by Country. Find out what it costs to travel around the world. Don’t plan too far in advance. When splurging, look for ways to economize. Make plans with other travelers. When you are on a cruise or other tab-oriented trip you must keep track of your spending daily. It is easy to wake up several weeks later to a huge bar bill (and not just alcohol this includes sodas and other extras). We kept track along the way so it wasn’t a surprise. To simplify the management of your finances, while e...

You can get your hair cut, enjoy good meals, and even indulge in a few activities at a much cheaper rate. We used this a lot back in Seattle before leaving for everything from dinners to trapeze lessons. And loved trying it out in the UK on our travels. Save on costs as much as possible but DO NOT be stupid.

Two lives, one big adventure around the world. Photo Friday – Sweet Treats in La Paz, Bolivia. We spent a few days in La Paz, Bolivia after our awesome salt flat tour. And every day we’d walk through a market near the hotel to find the woman who made these pastries. She’d be there bright and early with fresh sugary goodness for us to try. We must have eaten dozens of these treats over the span of four days. Delicious! Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window).

Just be...: November 2013
http://supreemthoughts.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 1, 2013. I've been struggling with this pendulum swing of emotion. I think most of us have experienced it at some point or continuously experience it on a daily basis. It is that feeling in which you feel total and utter gratitude and contentment with your lot in life and then on the other side, a complete dissatisfaction with something (or multiple things) in your life. An unparalleled appreciation of the fact that your loved ones are surrounding you, even for a short period of time.

Sunday, June 2, 2013. Ma'am (insert insult here)". It has been a while that a random stranger has just approached me with a verbal insult. The odd thing is, today I was talking to my friends about how this used to happen to me all the time, but at the back of my mind I was thinking, I am so happy it hasn't happened recently. I didn't even realize that this teenage boy was speaking to me, I wasn't even thinking about them. but after half a second passed I processed "Ma'am. do you.". I don't feel like I ne...
