Wednesday, 8 May 2013. They may as well rename Singapore 'Futuretown' and be done with it. After battling through a rush hour metro system without any sleep for nearly 24 hours, I landed at Jill's ridiculously high-in-the-sky gaff - the curvature of the earth was quite apparent from her balcony - and immediately slumped in to a bed for a few hours. Quite a few ships waiting to dock at the port. Perched across the top floors the architects decided - clearly off their tits at the time - to place a boat.

Tuesday, 26 March 2013. Between Agra and Varanasi we took an overnight train. It was 14 hours long and we had to make do with 3rd class Air Con sleeper, which sees 6 people sleep in a space no larger in area than your standard kitchen dining table. This was achieved through the use of triple bunks/cots, and I feel I have an insight in to the world of submariners now. I have sympathy for them. I work at Hotel Alka! How very bloody convenient". View from the hotel balcony, over the Ganges and down the ghats.
