Talentedhands: December 2006
http://talentedhands2.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 30, 2006. It's been a long time since I posted an update about Baby Roxy. A couple of friends got in touch, worried that we were back in the hospital, but thank God, we aren’t. Things have actually been pretty mellow. We later saw a GI doctor at Georgtown University Hospital, plus a feeding tube specialist at Children’s Hospital, who both agreed that unless Roxanne’s swallow and/or reflux improve dramatically over the next few weeks, she will need a G-tube and nissen. We have an ap...

The [grad school] adventures of erin*carly. And then there was rest. I can see the light! While this mess has since been cleaned up (mostly) and the paper handed in (I got an A-), it pretty well illustrates how my semester has been (and continues to be). I think I can, I think I can, I think I can … ). One of my favorite photos from the second shoot.). Filed under: grad school. 2 Responses to “I can see the light! Feed for this Entry. Talentedhands: February 2007
http://talentedhands2.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 24, 2007. Roxanne has been recovering beautifully since we got home from the hospital. No seizures! Posted by Talentedhands at 9:40 PM. Tuesday, February 20, 2007. Home from the hospital. Roxy was released from the hospital yesterday afternoon, and she’s doing just great! It’s such a relief to have the whole ordeal behind us. I knew I was stressed for weeks prior to the surgery, but I didn’t realize how much until we got home and I could finally breathe again. But today, YAY! Roxanne i...

Talentedhands: March 2007
http://talentedhands2.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 29, 2007. I wore my pager throughout the concert, ready to bolt if my baby was born that night. Posted by Talentedhands at 1:31 PM. Friends warm weather = : ). I hear that the blogosphere is clamoring for more photos of Roxanne. Your wish shall be granted. I haven’t written lately, because things with Roxanne have been blissfully (dare I say it? Calm No seizures. In fact, let’s assume she hasn’t had any unless I say otherwise, shall we? Today, I think we're going to Paddington Station.

Talentedhands: April 2007
http://talentedhands2.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 30, 2007. Roxanne is, indeed, getting stronger. Up till last week, when I took Roxanne to the grocery store, I put her in either an infant car seat or one of those bucket seats that are attached to the cart. On our last visit, she was able to sit up in the child seat at the front of the cart. She looked so mature! Granted, she got a little slumpy by the end of the trip, but she made it through. Who are you calling slumpy? Posted by Talentedhands at 7:58 PM. Monday, April 23, 2007. I went to...

The [grad school] adventures of erin*carly. Picture Story: On being inspired. First up. Bird by bird. My book has 19 flags in four colors hanging out the side. We’re only four chapters in. I already HAVE experience. Can’t I move on and shoot for the paper already? 8221; (Yes, I thought this. David Rees humbled me by the end of that first week.). Oh wait. I think it was one.). And finally … the podcast. What makes it good, and what makes it suck? Filed under: grad school. Feed for this Entry. Walking the ...

The [grad school] adventures of erin*carly. I can see the light! And then there was rest. My first semester as a graduate student is complete. Holy moly and little fishes, it’s complete! But many hours, projects, papers, readings and naps later, I’ve come out on top. For one of the few times in my life, I am a straight “A” student. And it feels good. In addition to all the classwork, I also managed to staff the 61st Missouri Photo Workshop. On our return, I will start work at the Columbia Missourian.

Talentedhands: July 2007
http://talentedhands2.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 31, 2007. The lovely and talented Jack. Sent me the five questions meme. He writes the questions, and I answer them on my blog. I think I'm supposed to ask other people questions now, but I'm too lazy for that. 1 What historical figure's life would you most want to have led, and why? No changing that person's life - you live it as s/he did.). I’d like to be him/her. 2 At what point in your life did you become essentially the person you are today? The Wizard of Oz. Is nearly perfect, but tha...

Talentedhands: January 2007
http://talentedhands2.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 25, 2007. Changing tack, Roxy and I went to see Dr. P, the epileptologist from Children’s on January 2nd. A week later, she got another, more detailed, MRI. A week after that, we met with the neurosurgeon. Talk about interest and attention! While it doesn’t feel like the idea of brain surgery is good news, it is. Roxanne isn’t responding to anti-epilepsy drugs, and statistically, if she hasn't, she won’t. Her seizures and the medications are slowing Roxy's development, and can e...Of co...
