Something Positive happens when we make Art
Paint A Positive Picture: June 2009
http://paintapositivepicture.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Paint A Positive Picture. Something Positive happens when we make Art. Sunday, June 14, 2009. Robyn Williamson "Haiku Michelle". For me, painting with my friend Dawn, painting a friend Michelle, and painting with new friends in the workshop was truly a "Paint a Positive Picture" moment. I had traveled, for a short time, to the "zone" and was reminded that, although I rarely have the opportunity to make art, I still am an artist. and I get to be one for the rest of my life. Pastel on BFK 22x30. PAINT A PO...

Paint A Positive Picture: July 2009
http://paintapositivepicture.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Paint A Positive Picture. Something Positive happens when we make Art. Friday, July 3, 2009. Marty Rogers "Shadows and Old Roses". Age 74 and 3/4. Shadows and Old Roses". Watercolor 19 x 22 framed. Labels: Paint a Positive Picture - Marty Rogers. In spite of her age (94) and circumstances, she was in perfect health and had a peace and beauty about her that is rare. She gave us permission to photograph her and although many shots were taken, this candid one seemed to best capture her grace and wisdom.

October 08, 2013. Fall on the Island. Fall at Deception Pass Park. 11 x 14 oil on linen panel). I am proud to say my father served in the Navy for over forty years (thanks, Dad! Perhaps I have been a bit swayed by the remarkable Summer we had this year. And, now, a beautiful Fall. I doubt I am celebrating all by myself but I AM celebrating! I am taking every opportunity to be outside and enjoy these glorious days and practice my plein air painting. Ah, what a LIFE! My plein air set-up (work in progress).
Sandy Byers ... paintings of my life: Studio Notes
http://sandybyers.blogspot.com/p/studio-notes.html
I love linen panels and, dare I say, I especially like my own linen panels. So, even though it means time away from the easel (which is how I measure everything) I do it because I find it so rewarding to put down that first brushstroke on the perfect surface! To the panels, brush on a generous coat of Golden Acrylic Ground 100 a.k.a. GAC 100 (I store mine in a squeeze bottle container which makes it easy to apply). Let it dry completely. Let this dry completely. I can't help but check on it every onc...

When we got to the falls, I unpacked my stuff and realized I had forgotten my stamped panels. Larry, as always, ...

February 23, 2014. Now, Where Was I? Ah, yes, back to Deception Pass. This time with pastels and a slightly different angle. I love this park! It's no wonder there are over 2 million visitors annually. Let's not even count the number of people who then fall in love with Washington. I covered it in scrapbook paper (and couldn't resist some stickers).and then covered the entire top with clear packing tape to give it a little extra protection. Thank you for sharing this! Sandy Byers ... paintings of my life: This Way to the Beach
http://sandybyers.blogspot.com/2013/08/this-way-to-beach.html
August 16, 2013. This Way to the Beach. Where does a girl go for the entire summer, you ask? Why, outside, of course.". Yes, yes, I have been back plein air painting and off on some wild adventures. So many that I have barely been on the computer; it's all I can do to stay in the house. One of my favorite spots is on the west side of Whidbey Island (Washington). There is something so serene about painting the water while listening to the waves rolling onto the shore in the background. Visit me on facebook.
