Prints are available in these categories:. I make a range of limited-edition original prints using solar-plate etching techniques . I use traditional oil-based inks mixing blues and burnt umber to create individual dark tones which are both strong and subtle. I print on to high quality traditional printing papers. The countryside is a continual source of inspiration to me, the rolling fields and hedgerows and the ancient woodlands and forgotten parklands of Galloway provide continual creative opportunities. Watercolour, Pen and Ink. I pass this view most days during the year and the rhythm of the fields often catch my eye. Here the recently cut hayfields created new patterns of colour against the wildflowers at the verge, which made me stop and sketch and then return to work on this lovely August day.
Solar Plate Etching Pamela Grace techniques

Etching using solar-plates is a technique which emerged from the early days of photographic engraving. A light sensitive metal plate is etched through the action of ultraviolet light enabling a wide range of tones to be bitten into the plate. The plate is then inked, wiped and printed on a traditional etching press, giving each print a unique character, enhanced by the combination of specialist inks and high quality traditional printing papers. 2010-2016 - pamela grace.

I have always been interested in gardens and gardening - glimpses of forgotten corners, greenhouses and back gardens. Galloway has everything from cottage gardens to long established walled gardens which display rich layers of planting developed over the years. I like to capture them in all seasons. This lovely garden is a favourite place of mine to draw and paint. The winter provides some new perspectives on favourite views. 2010-2016 - pamela grace.

I wrote a short poem for every month, from the viewpoint of the country henkeeper. I've kept hens for ages, frankly, in town gardens, country gardens, on a smallholding - and this spring I'm looking forward to reinstating them in a my new town garden. I miss them.
