Parenting Grace(fully): October 2011

http://parentinggracefully.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Lessons, laughs and a few bumps on this road of motherhood. Thursday, October 6, 2011. Sniffles and Coughs and Sneezes.OH MY! Ahhh, here it is. The season we all treasure: Flu/cold season. So turns out, that whole theory about men being big fat BABIES when they are sick is true even when they are, in fact, babies. Let me ellaborate:. Now of course, if the midst of it all, I feel terrible. I HATE when my kids are sick (as I have mentioned a million times before). I feel awful and helpless and want...Then ...

http://parentinggracefully.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Lessons, laughs and a few bumps on this road of motherhood. Friday, May 25, 2012. Gone, Baby, Gone. I feel as though I am sitting at a serious crossroads here, guys. More babies.or no more babies? So lately, I have had the baby bug (big time). Just ask my husband who has been tormented by me. He is holding strong at a firm "HELL TO THE NO" at the request for another baby. He's done. Even when I told him it could just be my babyand he wouldn't have to do anything. :-). In truth, I feel like I have finally...

Parenting Grace(fully): Just to add a little spice to our life...

http://parentinggracefully.blogspot.com/2013/02/just-to-add-little-spice-to-our-life.html

Lessons, laughs and a few bumps on this road of motherhood. Saturday, February 2, 2013. Just to add a little spice to our life. Because it was so bland and boring before, right? Let's get a puppy! Oh yes we did! Meet Brody. The cutest little black lab you ever did see! Our newest addition to the madness. Poor little guy didn't even know what he was getting himself into. Nor did we. If you don't come home now, this dog will not be here when you do come home". As with anything the dust settles. And out...

Parenting Grace(fully): November 2010

http://parentinggracefully.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Lessons, laughs and a few bumps on this road of motherhood. Thursday, November 25, 2010. Yesterday I drove by an orphanage. I saw kids in hand me down coats, kicking around a ball, laughing. It made me tear up. Those poor babies just want what every kid wants.love and affection. It made me give my own babies a little extra squeeze that night. How lucky are we? No matter what, my kids have a loving family. People who love them and care for them. Tears, because I am the lucky one who gets to kiss them away.

Lessons, laughs and a few bumps on this road of motherhood. Thursday, October 28, 2010. If breast is best, then I guess I'm taking the silver medal. One of the most stressful things in the first few weeks of my new role as a mother was breastfeeding. And mind you.I teach other people how to do this for a living. One of the first questions they ask you prenatally - "Do you plan on breastfeeding? My hormones raged, my baby wouldn't latch and my world fell apart. What the hell was wrong with me? Anyhoo....

http://thefrostingaddict.blogspot.com/2011/06/skull-crossbones-pull-apart-cake.html

Addicted to baking sweet treats! Skull and Crossbones pull-apart cake. Last weekend was also my baby brother's birthday. I shouldn't say baby brother since he was turning 26 but you get the idea :). He was throwing a joint birthday party with Vanessa who is just like family and I made them a cake for the celebration! Well actually I made them cupcakes! I placed a bunch of cupcakes on a platter really close together like this. Lastly using the black gel, I wrote out the Birthday message and wha-la. If you...

Baby Shower Cake and Cupcake Tower | The Frosting Addict

http://thefrostingaddict.blogspot.com/2011/07/baby-shower-cake-and-cupcake-tower.html

Addicted to baking sweet treats! Baby Shower Cake and Cupcake Tower. This cake was a fun cake to make! The flavors were simple. chocolate and vanilla with buttercream frosting. The challenge was in the fondant work. The top cake had a lot of adornments. Out of fondant I made a little baby covered by a blanket, a toy teddy bear, some blocks, a bottle and a ball. For the cupcakes I molded little baby feet. I also put a few baby feet around the sides of the cake. Here is everything all together.

The Frosting Addict: May 2011

http://thefrostingaddict.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Addicted to baking sweet treats! Last week, close friends of ours welcomed their 2nd child into the world. Since I am the one who is known to bring cakes or cupcakes for any sort of gathering I decided to try and make a non-edible Diaper cake as a gift for the new baby. I have seen these Diaper cakes before at many baby showers so I thought I would give it a go and make one myself! After some research on how to assemble the cake I got to work and have to say I am very happy with the finished product!

Addicted to baking sweet treats! For Easter I had a few orders and made an array of flavors including chocolate peanut butter cup, strawberry margarita, banana caramel, Lemon and Vanilla! For the lemon and vanilla cupcakes I wanted to decorate them with cute Easter decorations. I used Peeps and Jelly Beans! I think they came out very cute! I think the girls definitely enjoyed them! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! The whole recipe is pretty easy. As usual once they are cooled you can frost them!

Flag Cake | The Frosting Addict

http://thefrostingaddict.blogspot.com/2011/07/flag-cake.html

Addicted to baking sweet treats! When I was browsing my favorite blogs I came across this awesome cake on Glorious Treats. Her tutorial is much better then mine will be but either way if you have the chance you should definitely try and bake this cake! So I started out baking all the cakes I would need. 2 8inch red cakes. 1 8inch white cake. 1 8inch blue cake. Now from those cakes, I cut the 2 red cakes into layers and the white cake into layers. These are all my cakes waiting to be stacked. I kept the o...

http://thefrostingaddict.blogspot.com/2011/07/dora-explorerer-cake.html

Addicted to baking sweet treats! Dora The Explorerer Cake. So sorry for the lack of posting lately. it just seems that summers are so busy. Every weekend there is something to do whether it be a party, a cookout, a trip to the cape. I'm sure you all know how it goes. Recently we have been experiencing a bit of a heatwave as well. 90 degree temperature don't really motivate me to bake. but soon I will be resuming my baking as I have a couple of orders coming up next weekend! Here is the final product.

The Frosting Addict: The Savory Side

http://thefrostingaddict.blogspot.com/p/savory-side.html

Addicted to baking sweet treats! Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Beef Tenderloin. I don't usually post non-dessert items but when I made this for Easter Dinner I was very proud of myself so I wanted to share! I started out with 2 - 2 1/2lb beef tenderloins. I took them out of the fridge to rest to a room temp while I made the stuffing. The stuffing is very simple. 2 sticks of butter. 3-4 cloves of garlic (minced). 15 cups of italian seasoned breadcrumbs. 15 cups of italian seasoned panko breadcrumbs. If you are in...

Parenting God's Kids

Friday, October 08, 2010. Praying for Our Children. It is an awesome privilege to pray for our kids. Who better to lift them to the Father than someone who loves them more than their own life? God understands our parent hearts. What better words to pray than His words? I text the prayer I am praying to my kids. They may not appreciate it now, but one day may they become a parent who prays. Parenting Good Kids — Raising a child is both a marathon and gone in the blink of an eye.

Where there’s a will there’s a way. On the power of media. Recently, however, I had a little help from an outside source in helping my oldest daughter (7 years old) integrate an important and difficult concept into her thinking. The help came from a movie, and an animated one at that! But before I get to that, let me explain what the concept was. Frustration often seems to set in in my children very quickly (yours too? Do they continue on towards their goal? Or do they get frustrated and give up. And I g...

Parenting Grace(fully)

Lessons, laughs and a few bumps on this road of motherhood. Saturday, February 9, 2013. It was a beautiful October Sunday. Warm, sunny and fleeting. I knew there wouldn't be many days left like this before we had to endure blistering cold, drifts of snow and house arrest. So even though I had worked the night before, I packed up my kids and took them to the park. I wanted to soak up some sun and let them run around a little. And then came what turned into the single worst day of my life. I somehow got he...
