We fall down, but we get up | Somebody Please Pass My Cape!
https://passmycape.wordpress.com/2010/04/23/we-fall-down-but-we-get-up
Somebody Please Pass My Cape! We fall down, but we get up. April 23, 2010 at 11:03 AM ( Victory over Voluptuousness! Well, I fell off the weight-loss wagon. I’ve been off since…my last post! I took some time off with my kids for Spring Break with the full intention of dragging them with me to the gym in the mornings and knocking it out and playing kid games with my babies for those few precious days. But, it didn’t happen. And it hasn’t happened since. I’m no quitter! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Somebody Please Pass My Cape! So far, so good. March 31, 2010 at 10:39 PM ( Victory over Voluptuousness! Well, I did make it to the gym today. My husband didn’t. I have to get my bullhorn and poms poms out to cheer him on since he’s beginning to slack. I added some pep to my iPod to give me something to make me want to move more. It bothered me so much, I paused the machine and had to pick it up. I worked on my arms then left. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

Somebody Please Pass My Cape! Victory over my Voluptuousness. March 30, 2010 at 11:14 PM ( Victory over Voluptuousness! 8220;Battle of the Bulge”, “The Fat Attack” — too harsh. I prefer to label my weight management issue “Victory over my Voluptuousness”! That’s what I would always say about my curves — “Honey, I’m voluptuous! Don’t you love these hips, ta-tas and boo-tay? Well, gravity has set in and it’s getting ri-dam-diculous. My core looks like a large boar wrapped around my midsection! But, I don&#...

Somebody Please Pass My Cape! March 30, 2010 at 4:06 PM ( Real Talk. Welcome to my reality! Yes, there are a gazillion blogs about motherhood, and so I decided to add mine to that melting pot. Somebody Please Pass My Cape! Earth Day, Crickets and Deer. April 23, 2010 at 10:49 AM ( Real Talk. Yesterday, Earth Day was celebrated. On my job, we had a vendor fair. Several wonderful, eco-friendly companies and organizations came out to share with us the importance of recycling, decreasing energy costs and saving Mother Earth. Other than the freebies given out, I went with one main purpose:. WHERE do I take my CFL light bulbs for recycling? Is that sad or what? Fast forward to yesterday…. I made my ...

Helping ignite the spark to chase the branches in your own family tree! A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words. February 4, 2010. Escaping to another time while looking at old photos is a favorite past time for many people. Going through photos and making fun of the clothes from a decade or more ago; or the hairstyles you wouldn’t be caught dead wearing. People a generation or more removed from you who you resemble. Genetics is amazing! And no one seems to remember exactly who the person is. My maternal gra...

Helping ignite the spark to chase the branches in your own family tree! Start With What You Know. March 31, 2010. March 31, 2010. Whenever someone finds out that I actually enjoy researching my family tree and the length of time I’ve been doing it, they always ask me how to get started. My response: start with what you know. That would be starting with you and your immediate family. What do you know about who you are? Include in your biography the following:. When and where you were born (include county).

Helping ignite the spark to chase the branches in your own family tree! The McGills: Andrews, Williamsburg, SC. February 8, 2010. March 30, 2010. My grandfather, Henry Scott was born Willie McGill, May 16, 1898 in what is now Andrews, Williamsburg, South Carolina. His parents — Werry and Allene (FORD) McGill owned a farm on the Black River in Andrews from the late 1800s until their death. Several family members still own and live on the land the McGills owned. My grandfather helped Werry on the family fa...

Family Church Memories | Branch Chaser

Helping ignite the spark to chase the branches in your own family tree! March 26, 2010. Today, at work, my co-workers and I were talking about church. One talked about how she grew up in the “country” church and I chimed in about my experience. We poked fun, but we also ended up reminiscing about relatives and other elders who have since passed or are up in age. I would sit mesmerized at my grandmother as she would lead and the women in the church would join in. Of course my grandmother’s box of fo...

Helping ignite the spark to chase the branches in your own family tree! Brick Walls, Deadends and Eventually a Pot of Gold. February 8, 2010. February 8, 2010. I’ve stated before that I got my start in genealogy due to a grade school assignment. I had planned to travel to Andrews, SC in March 1997 to just ask around (LOL). But, unfortunately, my maternal grandmother’s brother died and I decided to stay home. A few months later, I sent off for his full military record. What I got back was a gold mine!

Helping ignite the spark to chase the branches in your own family tree! Family History Projects in School. February 2, 2010. When I was in grade school, probably fifth grade, we were assigned a project on our personal family histories. I don’t remember my teacher’s purpose with the assignment but it surely started something in me that continues today. Imagine my pride when I sketched out a tree of people I could still actually talk to for this assignment. During the research that I did, I came across inf...
