Restoration of one of the best motorcycles in the world. Monday, 17 October 2011. Air Box, 2-stroke and Slipping Kickstart. Hello again, It has been quite a while since my last post, and in the mean time, a lot has happened. I went for a fifty km ride in September, and once I had finished I had more than Half my tank left over. Not bad for a 2,5 liter tank! It just so happens that you need a roadworthy, licensed moped, and you need to have a learners license and be wearing a helmet. Monday, July 30, 2012. Spraying Job for fuel tank - 29th July 2012. Early in the morning i wake up, gathering every required equipments and doing some weather forecasting, and it seems that today gonna be a good sunny day. Starting with undercoat, i'm using grey because that's what i have in my stock, don't wanna spend more. 1st layer of undercoat. My beloved spray gun, just bought it last month. Monday, May 28, 2012. Making the main stand (double stand) - 28th May 2012. So today i went to a workshop and bought a stand which look compatible to my passola, Yamaha 100 Sport. Eventho the size is just nice, but the mounting layout is diff so i have to make a custom mounting for it. Cutting off the hollow rod. Monday, August 13, 2012. Custom Engine Cover (fiberglass) - 11th August 2012. I went to paint supply shop and bought a starter kit for fiberglass work. For RM26 (USD8.30) i get:. 4 sq feet of fiberglass sheet (mesh). 1/2 kg of resin. Using my old thin, stretchable t-shirt, i cut it into 1 big sheet and arranged it to the fuel tank. I'm using double-sided tape to stick it to the tank lower wall. This is how it look like. Rear side view of the cloth. Resin applied onto the cloth. Wet resin, rear side view.

Monday, August 6, 2012. Frame spraying - 4th August 2012. Since i got another free weekend, i cont the next step, painting the frame. This is how the frame look like after paint stripping and sanding job, not really tidy. My equipments, spraying gun, ciggarette, lighter. hahahaha. My dad's carving stuff filling the whole working area, so i have to do the spraying outside the normal area. Base color - Dark Silver/Gold. Clearcoat Layer - Aikka V10 (same as fuel tank clearcoat). Welcome to PassolaPassion.com a website devoted to the Yamaha Passola SA-50M and ME. The Passola was released in 1980 with the electric start model (ME) following in 1982. Production ended in 1985, so the youngest bikes are now 33 years old - the oldest being 38 years old. There is very little information on the web about the Passola, so I decided to put this site together so that the info I have found and built up over the years can be viewed by everyone around the world.
