Winter’s last gasp in nearby parks. [2014-2015]. Looking across frozen lake. Ice fishermen’s tracks. Looking up hill on lake. Camping Cabin at top of hill. Campsite – yes, Winter camping! Frozen lake near dam. Tents for Polar Bear Plunge. A few days later the snow begins to melt. Small glen by creek. Small vale by creek. Snow’s still deep here. For two weeks our yard was clear of snow, and we thought spring had arrived…then we got dumped on! Driving to next trail. Looking towards sledding hill.

Asymp; Comments Off on Don’t Panic. Or “Avoid Being Overwhelmed By Your Genealogy Research”. Has this ever happened to you? You all of a sudden have so much information, or perhaps records and paperwork, you become overwhelmed and don’t know what to do? Or don’t know what to work on first? One thing I’ve never figured out is why genealogical information comes in spurts sometimes pretty heavy spurts! The reason I started this post is because it’s one of the articles in the weekly Legacy News. Opening Door...

Discussion of old and interesting things, antiques, history, anything British, gardening, genealogy and family traditions or a combination of all of the above. Mc Coy Art Pottery Collection. So I have started my herbs- Parsley, Basil, Rosemary and Lavender. I use seeds for some and cuttings for others. I make a little greenhouse with plastic wrap and a rubber band. Once the seeds germinate and leaves are maturing then I take off the wrap. Springs of lavender I trimmed from a plant in my garden. Hmm, never ...

Discussion of old and interesting things, antiques, history, anything British, gardening, genealogy and family traditions or a combination of all of the above. Mc Coy Art Pottery Collection. Another suprise from Grandma. Well, my Grandma was a packrat and I was sorting through some old cards in a plastic bag that was in one of those boxes. I was amazed and surprised to see some very old writing on an envelope. Well I opened it up and was speechless. Posted in family history. October 4, 2014. You are commen...

My Hubby’s Family Photos. From My Family Tree. May 27, 2015. What does that ring have to do with my family tree? But I could make a case that it is in fact related to all things genealogy. My brother made it. Out of wood (which comes from trees). Family. Tree. 😉. Or that in my family tree I have loggers. The ring could be symbolically honoring those men. Or I could just tell you that my brother made me that beautiful ring and has just launched his website. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window).

8211; Define Your Dash –. Asymp; Leave a comment. Perhaps you’ve heard this idea before. A few years ago I read “the dash” poem by Linda Ellis:. For that dash represents all the time. That they spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved them. Know what that little line is worth. Think of a tombstone. And the birth and death date on that marker. What’s between them? But what about your life? Have you spent much time documenting “your dash”? And more successful in your daily life. Lest it seem too ...
