the Adventure's Edge: Patagonian sunrises
http://adventureedge.blogspot.com/2008/03/four-weeks-have-flown-by-unfortunately.html
Sunday, March 2, 2008. This is the old Refugio Pehoe on Lago Pehoe; it's now a park ranger station. I took this photo on February 14, Valentine's day, early in the morning. We'd hiked under gray skies and drizzle for about 10 hours the previous day, so wakening to blue skies was a big treat. I caught this sunrise near our campsite in the Mt. Fitzroy region, near El Chalten, Argentina. This was literally the view out our tent door. As usual, Fitzroy was acting a bit camera shy. The Adventures of Marc.

Sunday, February 10, 2008. Flamingos at Laguna de Nime. Saturday, February 9, 2008. El fin del mundo, Ushuaia. On Saturday we explored Tierra del Fuego national park and hiked about 8 miles through beautiful forests along the beaches of the Bahia de Lapatia. The area was stunning, thick forests running all the way to the cobalt blue waters and surrounded by massive peaks. Thursday, February 7, 2008. Mas tango y La Boca. Gotta go eat . Ciao, ciao. Wednesday, February 6, 2008. Tango en La Boca. The pool an...

the Adventure's Edge: September 2007
http://adventureedge.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 12, 2007. Bighorn and Cody fly fishing. Annie and our talented guide, Scott Sweebe of Eastgate Anglers, are stalking monsters in Newton lake near Cody. The local rivers were blown out with mud, thanks to some recent rainfall, so we were limited to lake fishing in Cody. This is a friendly bull moose we found munching on some willows in the Bighorns. He was pretty mellow, even though I think I intimidated him a bit. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Self portrait, near Moran, Wy.

the Adventure's Edge: April 2007
http://adventureedge.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 29, 2007. Santa Cruz Blur LT, aka the BLT. Got the bike a few days ago and I've spent about 6 hours on the trail with it since. It's definitely a different machine than my Cannondale Jekyll. Wicked fast with plenty of travel to smooth out any scree field. Tuesday, April 17, 2007. Gear as Inspiration- the Maximalist philosophy. Yet, when I look in the mirror, I want to see a "minimalist" staring back at me- it's funny. I have tried and tried to pare down on the gear, but it seems that I ...

the Adventure's Edge: June 2007
http://adventureedge.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 25, 2007. Moto fishing: the next big thing? I think I'm on the bleeding edge of a new sport- call me an innovator, if you'd like. By combining the thrill of high speed adventure motorcycling with the rush of hooking a scrappy brook trout, I have successfully fused to fantastic passtimes into one. It's a biathlon of sorts, except without the guns . or the skiing part . Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Self portrait, near Moran, Wy. The Adventures of Marc. Sites I like to visit.

Organic Karma: March 2008

One woman's quest to "go green". Monday, March 31, 2008. I Tumble For Ya. I am officially composting. Saturday brought a bright sunny Colorado spring day, Marc was without flu or hangover and we set to building the Backyard ComposTumbler. Thanks to my expert instruction reading, our composter was set up and filled with old leaves just a scant 45 minutes. Baking frenzy and our daily coffee habit. The website says I should have compost in 4-6 weeks . just in time to start my garden! Thursday, March 27, 2008.

the Adventure's Edge: December 2007
http://adventureedge.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 2, 2007. Patagonia, coming soon . Torres Del Paine N.P. near Puerto Natales, Chile. Moab White Rim Moto Adventure. It's been a super long time since I've posted here, but that doesn't mean the adventures have ended. About a month ago, October 20th, I rode out to Moab on my GS to sample the red sand on my big 1200. The Potash road into Moab winds gently along the Colorado, between Tamarac bushes and some of the best sandstone slab in the country. Since our camp was about 10 miles outs...

the Adventure's Edge: Big Ice, Leche de Glaciar
http://adventureedge.blogspot.com/2008/03/big-ice-leche-de-glaciar.html
Sunday, March 2, 2008. Big Ice, Leche de Glaciar. In this image, Annie is hiking down the valley to the Cerro Torre glacier, where we did a trek on the ice with crampons. We hiked about 3.5 steep hours and crossed one river via Tyrolean traverse and balanced on boulders to cross another, before arriving at the glacier. It was a 12 hour day, followed by about 12 cold cervezas. And here's Annie, getting ready to attack the ice, complete with crampons. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). This blog is the de...

Friday, March 21, 2008. FitzRoy and El Chalten favs . It is amazing how one can fixate, anticipate, dream of, look forward to a vacation for so long, drink it in all at once, in an action-packed week (or month, if you're lucky,) and then be right back in the same funk and monotony of daily life within matter of minutes of arriving home.
