Hakunamatata: My African Story. Monday, October 18, 2010. So the weeks are starting to blend together. Im not really sure what day it is half the time! Anyways, I am very sorry to report that this week really has no amazing festivities! I mean, I went to work every day which is the same as always, but nothing excited really happened! Paul van der Sterren werd op 17 maart 1956 geboren in Venlo. Hij kwam op dertienjarige leeftijd op het Thomascollege met het schaken in aanraking en begon al snel mee te doen aan alle schoolwedstrijden. Nog in hetzelfde jaar werd hij lid van de Venlose Schaakvereniging en vanaf dat moment was er geen houden meer aan en deed hij waar hij maar kon mee aan allerlei toernooien en competities. In 1979 behaalde hij de titel Internationaal Meester en in 1989 werd hij benoemd tot Internationaal Grootmeester.
