Friday, August 29, 2014. I have had a lot of experience adjudicating disputes. I have been the middle-man in too many arguments and conflicts to even count. Work, home, consulting, partnerships.I have seen it all. In a household of five I get more experience in conflict resolution during breakfast than 'Judge Judy' gets all day long. Shut Up and Listen -. So elementary but so often forgotten. Every business or management school should have a class called 'How to Shut Up' and it should be mandatory. Hopef...

Friday, May 29, 2015. The Way to Gripe. I was watching Saving Private Ryan. On Memorial Day as the rain pounded down outside my house. It was probably the tenth or twelfth time I had seen it. If you haven't seen it, quit reading, go buy it, and correct that error. It's not only a great movie but it could also function as a seminar on leadership in any school in the country. I like the scene below on How to Gripe. I think griping really needs to be broken down a bit - depending on who is listening:. Seven...

Friday, April 24, 2015. 65279;Every time a new monkey went for the banana it was attacked by the other monkeys. None of the monkeys that were beating it had a clue why they weren't allowed to go for the stairs and the tasty yellow treat. Why were they beating the newest monkey? The 'group consciousness' can lead to. Some very strange behaviors at times. Curt Roberts, Peachtree Medical Billing. Friday, April 17, 2015. It's not just because of my Georgia ties and a love of the game. I'll never be one ...

Friday, November 28, 2014. A Short Talk with a Fisherman. A consultant, on vacation in Tahiti, watched a little fishing boat pull into the dock near his hotel. Seeing the beautiful fish on the floor of the boat, the consultant asked the fisherman how long it had taken to catch them. Not very long." answered the fisherman. Why didn't you stay out longer and catch more? The fisherman explained that his catch was all he needed for him and his family. How long would that take? The Fisherman just walked away.

Friday, August 28, 2015. Liberal gets the latest from Al Franken, updates from MSNBC, and a reminder to watch Bill Maher tonight - modern media, the ultimate version of the suck up or 'yes man'. There is a major problem with our 'yes man' culture when even a computer is designed to only tell you what you want to hear. The 'suck up' attitude is bad enough when it happens in politics, it can be deadly to a business if the people in charge allow it. Curt Roberts, Peachtree Medical Billing. Is Your Lab Ready?

Friday, March 27, 2015. I realize that may sound a bit draconian or cold. Poor employees adversely affect the efforts, profitability, and future of any organization. The sad part is that everyone knows that, but so few are willing to do anything about it. I have a graph I like to use when looking at the overall performance of an employee:. The Problem Child has potential but is lacking in other areas. Perhaps they have attendance problems, need more challenges, or have personal issues. They are w...I bel...

Friday, December 26, 2014. A Short Talk While Traveling. A long time ago a traveler was walking from one town to another. He came across an old man by the side of the road. The traveler said to the old man, "Can I ask you a question? I am traveling from the town in the mountains to the town by the lake and I was wondering if you knew what it's like down there? Sure, but if I may," said the old man, "What was it like in the mountain town? The traveler hung his head and walked on. Asked the second traveler.
