make it happen

Saturday, June 07, 2008. It’s been a long 2 years. They days went slow but the weeks few by. I’m home now, sitting at my parent’s kitchen table eating a grilled cheese sandwich while typing this. It’s certainly good to be home. It’s not easy to summarize my last 2 years in Uganda serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer while working with Compassion International. I’ve seen and experienced so much in that time. Most importantly, my world view has changed. I’ve seen things that tourists would never see. I enjoy...

make it happen: December 2005

http://www.pervispc.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, December 18, 2005. I never do this, but I have a sincere prayer request to ask of my readers and friends. I believe in the awesome power of prayer, especially the power of prayer by several people. My house. Maybe he's trying to get me to trust Him all the way through the process and up until the very end like he did to Abraham when he was asked to sacrifice Isaac. I don't know, so in the mean time I'll pray and ask you to do the same if you would please. Just take a moment. Close to the End.

make it happen: Getting sick happens...

http://www.pervispc.blogspot.com/2008/03/getting-sick-happens.html

Tuesday, March 11, 2008. I didn’t want to blog about this but I think I need to. I found myself face down in the dirt last week outside of my pit latrine unable to move or yell for help. I was lying in the dirt in a pool of my own sweat struggling not to faint as my world got darker and further away. I had left my phone in my house so I was without any lifelines. I didn’t exactly know what was happening or why. Earlier that day I had felt uneasy with no appetite. I laid there for I don’t know how long.

make it happen: January 2006

http://www.pervispc.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 29, 2006. You HAVE to want me to do this, right? Then sell the house, God! What are you waiting for? However in recent weeks my focus has shifted from nagging to trusting. As a Christian, a believing, trusting-in-God Christian, I am bound to believe that God is in control, right? Posted by Brian R Dunn @ 9:48 PM. Friday, January 20, 2006. And then there were none. Thanks to everyone for helping get them placed! I really appreciate y'all coming to the rescue and so do Leighla and Bear!

make it happen: April 2006

http://www.pervispc.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 22, 2006. The capital city. Where to begin? It was totally like an American shopping mall. It had a grocery story with cheese, peanut butter, chocolate, snickers bars, real ketchup and a deli! And it wasn’t very busy for what a Saturday afternoon in a mall should be! But it obviously was more expensive to shop there. The were working on an addition that would add on a hotel, an ice rink and a go-cart track plus a golf course! Posted by Brian R Dunn @ 6:03 PM. Saturday, April 15, 2006.
