Mick and Deb's tour. Campervanning here and there. Portugal (Pete & Nina). Going Dutch →. Along The Algarve (and up the Costas). April 13, 2016. We decided to travel along the Algarve coast back towards the Spanish border, call back at Messines for the Easter break, then cross back into Spain for the steady trek North. The camperstop was “buzzed”that afternoon by some local joyriders, but they didn’t burn too much rubber! Our next stop was Silves (20 mins inland) Debs checked us onto the camperstop.

Mick and Deb's tour. Campervanning here and there. France, the final frontier (for this trip anyway) →. Did the Earth move? November 5, 2016. We left Rome heading for the hills, our plans being to visit Tuscany, Florence and Pisa, before heading out of Italy for a trip to Monaco to price up a new boat. We have been exchanging “WhatsApp” torments with our friends Pete and Nina and had arranged to meet for a wine/pizza/pasta/gossip frenzy. Our breakfast view, Rome is over there under the cloudy bit. We wok...

Mick and Deb's tour. Campervanning here and there. Pompei and Rome →. October 17, 2016. With the weather forecast on the North side of the Alps looking a bit grim for the next week or so, it was time to bid a sad farewell to the gorgeous Bavaria and head South to our next destination – Italy. Our plans were to visit Venice, then travel down the Adriatic coast until level with Naples then traverse the country, to visit Pompei, Rome, Florence, Pisa and Tuscany, on the northbound leg. After an extended stay...

Cartagena – elliottsontour

December 25, 2016. In my defence it’s modern technology getting the better of me, that’s not hard though. So, Cartagena, to start with its a major historical port full of bars with tapas, think I’ve got the hang of this Spanish life! The campsite was a short bus ride out of town with all the services for 10 Euros/night. The museums will keep you busy for as long as you want. The port can easily accommodate the cruise ships. They don’t paint these things white! Those Romans got everywhere. Lynne Walton on...

Sagres,Lagos and Figuiera. Sagres sits on the very southwestern tip of Portugal, lands end, as we would call it, Figuiera sits between Sagres and Lagos so it’s one rough, beautifully scenic coast line. We parked in a free unofficial car park with other like minded mixed nationality campers and had a good first night, next night settled in to be moved on at 21:30 by the GNR, so off to Lagos to arrive very quietly at 11 pm! 8230;….that’s it, got moved along! The coastline around Figuiera. March 5, 2017.

Castro Marim and Villa Real de Santo Antonio. Portugal after Spain is like Anderby Creek after London, a different pace of life altogether. Castro Marim has two strategically placed castles to fend off the Phonecians, Moors, English and Romans to name but a few so it was a busy place in times gone by, spilling blood guarding the Portuguese/Spanish border divided by the Guadiana river, so we took the ferry over for 5 Euros! Don Quixote (Knights Templars actually)…. 8230;and his foe! From one castle….
