Pete & Nina on tour!

Pete and Nina on tour! Tuesday, 3 January 2017. The New Year rapidly approaches and our time is filled with walking and cycling down familiar routes together with tripping in to Sanlucar to sample its evening life. Now if only we could find a chip shop! An afternoon is pleasantly spent walking in to Sanlucar to stroll the streets and seek out tapas. Armed with my trusty translation I try to seek out the guy who sharpens knives, to no avail so the belt knife will have to wait for another day. We've had a ...

Pete & Nina on tour!: January 2017

http://petehudson0810.blogspot.com/2017_01_01_archive.html

Pete and Nina on tour! Saturday, 21 January 2017. The next couple of weeks are spent firstly entering Portugal in the south east and traversing the country east to west in search of an elusive solar panel. This would have been our preferred entry point directly in the tiny hamlet of Pomarao. 50m from the border (and Pom) there's a bit of a landslide sealing the countries off from one another. We settle in right in front of Russ (Aka Nobby) and Lynne for the next week. Another fire, another roaring success.

Pete & Nina on tour!: December 2015

http://petehudson0810.blogspot.com/2015_12_01_archive.html

Pete and Nina on tour! Wednesday, 30 December 2015. After a relaxing stay at Sanlúcar the time has passed quickly and we relocate to Seville. Third time round in a year but we can't resist this fine city. We 'Fozz' it in and promptly get lost on the one way system but the mapping app bails us out and we get parked up ready to stroll the busy streets. The 'Nativity' Seville style. Huge queues await anyone searching for the magic winning tickets. Underneath that architectural oddity. What had us in stitche...

Pete & Nina on tour!: November 2015

http://petehudson0810.blogspot.com/2015_11_01_archive.html

Pete and Nina on tour! Sunday, 29 November 2015. Now our Italian adventure is done we look forward to a winter of sun and lazy days on the Iberian Peninsula so we set off across the Med coast of France. The first night is spent near Aix en Provence up in the hills in a quite picturesque region. The downside is when we awake its shockingly cold and the heating goes on for the first time since last winter. We pull up at a lovely marina near Bellegarde next day and 'Fozz' it to nearby Arles. Given that they...

Pete & Nina on tour!: Christmas @ Sanlucar de Barrameda

http://petehudson0810.blogspot.com/2016/12/christmas-sanlucar-de-barrameda.html

Pete and Nina on tour! Thursday, 29 December 2016. Christmas @ Sanlucar de Barrameda. A short hop up to Sanlucar De Barrameda and we are soon settled in on Alphonso's fine site for the festive period. Same as last year but with chums Keith and Chris for good company. We secure a fine spot down one end of the site and get settled in for the duration. Next day we are off on the bus to nearby Sanlucar and a visit to the fish market for lunch. And don't you forget it! Just in case anyone needs a ferret?

Along The Algarve (and up the Costas) | Mick and Deb's tour

https://mickandeb.wordpress.com/2016/04/13/along-the-algarve-and-up-the-costas

Mick and Deb's tour. Campervanning here and there. Portugal (Pete & Nina). Going Dutch →. Along The Algarve (and up the Costas). April 13, 2016. We decided to travel along the Algarve coast back towards the Spanish border, call back at Messines for the Easter break, then cross back into Spain for the steady trek North. The camperstop was “buzzed”that afternoon by some local joyriders, but they didn’t burn too much rubber! Our next stop was Silves (20 mins inland) Debs checked us onto the camperstop.

Did the Earth move? | Mick and Deb's tour

https://mickandeb.wordpress.com/2016/11/05/did-the-earth-move

Mick and Deb's tour. Campervanning here and there. France, the final frontier (for this trip anyway) →. Did the Earth move? November 5, 2016. We left Rome heading for the hills, our plans being to visit Tuscany, Florence and Pisa, before heading out of Italy for a trip to Monaco to price up a new boat. We have been exchanging “WhatsApp” torments with our friends Pete and Nina and had arranged to meet for a wine/pizza/pasta/gossip frenzy. Our breakfast view, Rome is over there under the cloudy bit. We wok...

Well this is the last blog of this trip, as we are making our way through France to be home for Christmas. All is not lost though as there is some good stuff still to read, including my birthday bash, rendezvous with friends and mountain biking action pictures. Read on, you’ll love it…………….maybe. https://mickandeb.wordpress.com/2016/10/17/into-italia

Mick and Deb's tour. Campervanning here and there. Pompei and Rome →. October 17, 2016. With the weather forecast on the North side of the Alps looking a bit grim for the next week or so, it was time to bid a sad farewell to the gorgeous Bavaria and head South to our next destination – Italy. Our plans were to visit Venice, then travel down the Adriatic coast until level with Naples then traverse the country, to visit Pompei, Rome, Florence, Pisa and Tuscany, on the northbound leg. After an extended stay...

Cartagena – elliottsontour

https://elliottsontour.wordpress.com/2016/12/25/cartagena/comment-page-1

December 25, 2016. In my defence it’s modern technology getting the better of me, that’s not hard though. So, Cartagena, to start with its a major historical port full of bars with tapas, think I’ve got the hang of this Spanish life! The campsite was a short bus ride out of town with all the services for 10 Euros/night. The museums will keep you busy for as long as you want. The port can easily accommodate the cruise ships. They don’t paint these things white! Those Romans got everywhere. Lynne Walton on...

Sagres,Lagos and Figuiera. Sagres sits on the very southwestern tip of Portugal, lands end, as we would call it, Figuiera sits between Sagres and Lagos so it’s one rough, beautifully scenic coast line. We parked in a free unofficial car park with other like minded mixed nationality campers and had a good first night, next night settled in to be moved on at 21:30 by the GNR, so off to Lagos to arrive very quietly at 11 pm! 8230;….that’s it, got moved along! The coastline around Figuiera. March 5, 2017.

Castro Marim and Villa Real de Santo Antonio. Portugal after Spain is like Anderby Creek after London, a different pace of life altogether. Castro Marim has two strategically placed castles to fend off the Phonecians, Moors, English and Romans to name but a few so it was a busy place in times gone by, spilling blood guarding the Portuguese/Spanish border divided by the Guadiana river, so we took the ferry over for 5 Euros! Don Quixote (Knights Templars actually)…. 8230;and his foe! From one castle….

It's all Geek to me!

It's all Geek to me! Just the ramblings of a motorbike-riding geek :). Monday, 29 February 2016. After completing my first jump, I was desperate to get back up there and get jump #2 completed. Unfortunately the weather and my Crohns conspired against me, and so I had to satisfy myself with "refreshers" and a parachute packing course. I wasn't expecting to jump due to the recent bad weather, but this Saturday was bright, and cold with little to no breeze. But I wasn't going to pass up an opportunity.
