Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog: January 2015

http://petermooreblog.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog. Tuesday, 27 January 2015. Sick, and tired. A bit poorly this weekend so no additions to the photo year list to report on account of spending the best part of 48 hours asleep or sneezing. Just about summoned up the energy to update my neglected website. A bird: long time, no see. Sunday, 18 January 2015. OK, having lured you in with a vaguely interesting shot of a sweeping Spoonbill and a supermarket trolley (where else but Holes Bay? Pochard #46: a shy female at Swineham.

Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog: Because I'm worth it

http://petermooreblog.blogspot.com/2015/08/because-im-worth-it.html

Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog. Friday, 7 August 2015. Because I'm worth it. One of the benefits of working like a dog. Recently has been a few more pennies in the savings jar, enough at least for me to feel able to spoil myself with a new Canon 7D Mark II and 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 II zoom lens. First impressions of both are pretty good. This Willow Warbler was photographed out of the car window at an inconvenient angle in imperfect light - f5.6, ISO640 and a shutter speed of 1/500th of a second. Given that it...

Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog: February 2015

http://petermooreblog.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog. Saturday, 28 February 2015. The British Birds Rarities Committee, which assesses the voracity of reports of rare birds in this country, can take quite a while to pronounce with some complex and controversial cases taking years, even decades, to conclude. So it was a relief to see it take less than a year to rule on a couple of special birds which I saw in April last year. First of these was a Baikal Teal. Baikal Teal, Fen Drayton, Cambridgeshire, 2nd April 2014. Today I scram...

Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog: July 2015

http://petermooreblog.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog. Thursday, 23 July 2015. 65279;If you're thinking 'it's been so long since he posted anything that he must be working like a dog between jet-setting off to glamorous holiday locations', well, you'd be half right. The first half, specifically. The photo year list, around which this blog has been themed in 2015, ground to a shuddering halt on 202 following a Father's Day Terek Sandpiper. Dipper on the River Lyn. One of many young Grey Wagtails on the same. My book says Pygmy Shr...

Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog: Not quite on the garden list...

http://petermooreblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/not-quite-on-garden-list.html

Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog. Wednesday, 20 May 2015. Not quite on the garden list. But not far off. This stunning Red-footed Falcon was a short walk from home in Wareham. 21 May 2015 at 10:32. Peter Moore’s Birding Blog. Welcome to my web site, which contains a selection of wildlife photographs taken mostly in the UK over the last fifteen years. The images on this site are a comprehensive record of my personal photographic highlights. While many are simply record shots included for completeness, I hope you find some of a higher quality, including several that have been published. Please click on ‘Images’. And more. All were taken by me in the UK, with the exception of the ‘World Wildlife’.

Joe's Blog: The Year List - January 2015

http://joebirding.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-year-list-january-2015.html

Monday, 26 January 2015. The Year List - January 2015. This year I have decided to try and photograph as many bird species as I can in a year. The only rule is that you have to be able to identify the bird in the picture. Here's a few of my favourites so far. The Oystercatcher was in Poole Harbour, off Shore Road. When Radipole is in sunlight it can be a real treat. Here's a Teal and a Mallard that were close to the bridge. This Great Tit was in the scrub by the car park at Durlston.

Joe's Blog: In the Shadows - 13th December 2014

http://joebirding.blogspot.com/2014/12/in-shadows-saturday-13th-december-2014.html

Wednesday, 17 December 2014. In the Shadows - 13th December 2014. The sun coming out didn't really help because it came from where we were pretty much facing so the light wasn't very good. But it helped in the way that there was actually some form of a light source. The light did, however create an interesting sky with a silhouette of a Robin according to Dad, but I'm not convinced! http://joebirding.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, 28 June 2014. Looking for Nightjars again - 27th June 2014. Accompanied by Gabe, we set out to look for Nightjars, which Gabe had never seen before. We were welcomed rather nicely by a beautiful sunset. Gull flying across the sunset. Just one of the very few birds that we sighted on the heath. Deer were out and about on the heath as we continued to search for the nocturnal creatures. Saturday, 7 June 2014. Families Everywhere - 7th June 2014. Sunday, 1 June 2014. Saturday, 28 March 2015. Another Gull at Radipole - 27th March 2015. Considering that it was a dull grey day, we didn't spend long taking photos but these were the best I got. Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog. Tuesday, 20 March 2018. The first Adder of the year is always a thrill. On closer inspection, my first Adder of 2018 turned out to be two Adders. A recent visit to Portland. Unfortunately this non-native species appears to prosper at the expense of native lizards. They tend to return to the scene of past crimes so despite the frequent disappearing acts, a few photographs were possible with patience. Wall Lizard, Portland. Wall Lizard, Portland.
