At the forefront of viral ecology and personalized medicine. There are 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000—10. Of the biological universe. For over a decade, SDSU researchers have led the way to characterize the global virosphere in a cross-disciplinary area of excellence at SDSU: The Viral Information Institute (VII; "vee"). Building on the early work in viromics, the VII group has shown that viruses, particularly the phage, are the most diverse and abundant members of the human body. These v...

Matthew Anderson, Optical methods to probe biological and environmental processes (Physics Department). Arlette Baljon, Large-scale simulations of biopolymers (Physics Department). One example of an associating polymer network is mucus. Using large scale modeling, my group investigates if and why the adherence of phage to mucins helps them to hunt for bacteria. This work is in collaboration with other researchers in the Viral Information Institute (Human Health). Antoni Luque, Structural and ecological m...

Physics Meets Running: \about_me{
http://colemansteaandcake.blogspot.com/p/aboutme.html
Birth - High School. That's like a 6 hour drive, for real. I ran a lot. I mean . a lot. I lived my life by Einstein's famous quote "F*ck you Maxwell" and decided to study physics (aka f6 or fzx). That I was going to attend them in the Spring and they had no choice but to let me. Oh ya, I ran for 4 years of XC and Track and went to NCAA DIII XC meet, so that's neat. Graduate School, more running. So basically I run, study and post crap here. enjoy. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
