Faking Intelligence: December 2008
http://fakingintelligence.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 26, 2008. I think I may be allergic to holidays, not my family. Sorry in advance for typos). Ok, so every year my mother teases me and claims that I am allergic to my family (which is the reason I am sick almost every holiday in her opinion). I claim that I am just allergic to holidays in general. Snuggles, nap time and hilarity watching kitties that were doped up on catnip! And despite all that, I still felt like crap. = . He wants us to come in tonight. I really didn't mean for this to...

Faking Intelligence: Week Three
http://fakingintelligence.blogspot.com/2013/09/week-three.html
Friday, September 27, 2013. I found in the third week that not only was it easier, but I also started eating less without having to think about it. Also, the smarter food choices are becoming easier. The later is being said though since my body greatly disagrees with the consumption of dairy and red meats and has for some time. Because of this I have been going through the process of cutting back and out on these foods. This way seems to work better for me though since I am consistently loosing and my we...

Connected Things: October 2010
http://connectedthings.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
You are looking fine and dandy. Sunday, October 31, 2010. I've seen several of these around town, and the gag is hardly original, but I think it's funny every single time I see it. Honestly, I kind of wish every horse tie had some variant of this going on. Update: Apparently this is a thing! Like, an organized thing! A friend of mine on Facebook alerted me to the existence of the Horse Project. Links to this post. Saturday, October 30, 2010. And they're in True Blood. As did that horrible Van Helsin.

Connected Things: December 2010
http://connectedthings.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
You are looking fine and dandy. Thursday, December 30, 2010. 2010, In Review. 2010 was simultaneously horrible and awesome. Helllllloooo, grad school! Giving walking tours of Portland has been a fantastic experience, and has made me realize something that I always sort of knew about myself: public speaking makes me high. When I taught for GEOS and then Kaplan, I got some whiffs of that- those days when a class just clicked and the students all went "ooooh! And have occasionally done stand up comedy.

Connected Things: July 2011
http://connectedthings.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
You are looking fine and dandy. Thursday, July 14, 2011. You're Tearing Me Apart, Lisa! Is a terrible movie. Most movies that are known for being terrible are known for their awful special effects and horribly contrived genre conventions. Plan 9 From Outer Space. Is emblematic of the kind of B movies that are traditionally known as the Worst Ever. Is more like this:. It's like they only rented the flower shop for thirty seconds, and only did a single take. Did you see all that exposition? And then there'...

You are looking fine and dandy. Friday, August 19, 2011. This has been a long time coming. I'm ending this blog and starting a new one. I've ported all of my old content from this site over to the new one, and will now be blogging at joestreckert.com. Hopefully you guys who have enjoyed reading my various rants and word-spewings will head on over. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Connected Things: May 2011
http://connectedthings.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
You are looking fine and dandy. Saturday, May 28, 2011. On other days, precisely the opposite happens. Some days after a tour the fives and tens and twenties come out in something like a flood, and my wallet has a reassuring fatness to it afterwards. People not only compliment and applaud me, but give me money as well. You don't like me? You don't like the massive, personable knowledge-dump that I just gave you? You don't like the map of Portland with restaurant recommendations that I just did for you?
