An insight into how we grow fruit and veg. Saturday, August 09, 2008. Its been a long time but! Its been a long time since I updated my blog but a change in work circumstances means instead of working 4 days on and 4 off I am now working Monday to Friday and very often away from home giving me much less free time than before. An insight into how we grow fruit and veg. Monday, April 28, 2008. I dont know about you, but at this time of year, easpecially during a mild spell, there is always a juggling act going on with regard to greenhouse space. Our first lettuce (8 varieties) are now hardened off and planted out with the first little gems having already been pulled and eaten. Links to this post. Monday, April 14, 2008. Planting, planting and a bit of harvesting. Our hardened off module sown herbs went out today. The dill (...

Evington Hilltop Adventures: Back into the saddle

http://pigletsplots.blogspot.com/2010/03/back-into-saddle.html

An insight into how we grow fruit and veg. Sunday, March 28, 2010. Back into the saddle. Its been well over a since since my last post, work, a gammy knee and house renovations have all conspired to keep me away from my allotments. Below, my hative de niort shallots are growing on well and will be planted on the plots once a bed for them is cleared. They were potted up in February. As a few had started to sprout. They are an excellent shallot and a good variety if you like showing. Back into the saddle.

http://pigletsplots.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html

An insight into how we grow fruit and veg. Monday, March 24, 2008. Still lots to do. The poor weather gave me an ideal excuse to get into the greenhouse at home to carry on potting on and pricking out. The poached egg plant seedlings (above) are grown as sacrificial companion plants as they attract greenfly far more readily than most other crops and are planted at the end of rows. These are now ready to prick out. Links to this post. Sunday, March 16, 2008. Planting spuds the easy way. We just set out a ...

An insight into how we grow fruit and veg. Sunday, November 21, 2010. This time I mean It. The time has come to really make an effort for next year on the plots and that means lots of sorting out this winter. I have made a good start and the compost bins are already filling up with weeds. As pictured below I finally got some spring cabbage plants into the ground and netted over. Links to this post. Tuesday, April 06, 2010. The new salad bar at home. They are watered via a leaky hose and water computer an...

Gardeneering - Plots and Plans: September 2007

http://allyheebiejeebie.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html

Gardeneering - Plots and Plans. Tracking the progress of the garden and allotment. Sunday, September 23, 2007. Photos (in wrong order). I can't believe I have strawberries ripening now! The square foot bed (well, the 121 sq inch bed really) with kohlrabi, lettuce and spring cabbage. The "hedge" of leylandii behind the pond and the start of the chickenwire to cover the gaps. I'm sure the chickens will be right over that and into the precious brassicas. Borlotti beans. Gorgeous. They're purple and yellow!

Grief Encounters...: Garden Bloomers. ..

http://grief-encounters.blogspot.com/2011/06/garden-bloomers.html

Random Ramblings from a twisted mind. Thursday, June 09, 2011. Garden Bloomers. . Well this is summer eh? Had breakins at our allotment site with 16 sheds being done - not much taken in the scheme of things but loads of hassle for those concerned with the damage done. Bastards, may they get their come upance. On a brighter note, the garden id looking good at the moment. You might even say Rosey B-). Acer palmatum ' atropurpureum. And finally my favourite. Grief Encounters...: Norfolk weekend - part one

http://grief-encounters.blogspot.com/2011/05/norfolk-weekend-part-one.html

Random Ramblings from a twisted mind. Monday, May 16, 2011. Norfolk weekend - part one. After a bit of discussion we (myself and a friend) decided to have a birdwatching weekend in norfolk. A bit of searching we hit on Blakeney as a base. A couple of more meetings over a curry and a few beers and we had an outline of what we fancied doing (Subject to changes of course) So here we go. Day One - the journey up. Early Purple Orchid at RSPB Titchwell. Anyway, back to the birding, having check in tea'd up and...

Grief Encounters...: April 2011

http://grief-encounters.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Random Ramblings from a twisted mind. Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Got home from Whitacre heath and my daughter volunteered to look after Darwin, her friends bearded dragon. So Bank holiday and it always rains eh. not this time! Had a glorious weekend that was made better by the fact I'm not in work for another week! SO what do you do, well I nipped out to my local reserve ( Whitacre Heath. Quite a lot of the spring flowers are going over already but I'm sure they will be back for a second flush. Other thing...

Grief Encounters...: Norfolk Weekend - part two

http://grief-encounters.blogspot.com/2011/05/norfolk-weekend-part-two.html

Random Ramblings from a twisted mind. Monday, May 23, 2011. Norfolk Weekend - part two. So where did I leave you . Ah yes, Titchwell so it must have been Sarnies, tea and bearded tits! Right then Onwards and upwards. Day 3 - The other way. Having ate heartily, we ventured to Kelling Heath in search of Dartford warblers of which there were none but we did get several stonechats and a solitary yellow hammer singing is heart out ( when he wasn't hanging on for grim death). Another Marsh man after his lunch.

Peter's Allotment Blog: June 2010

http://podsplot.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Tnis is a haphazard record of my two allotment plots totalling twenty rods and my back garden with its twelve foot by eight foot greenhouse. Sunday, June 06, 2010. Where to start on this catch up? How about at the front of Plot 18. To the left of that square of Sweetcorn is some Curly leafed Parlsey, beyond the next hurdle are some more Shallots and some dark purple Cornflowers, all planted out this weekend. The strip to the left has been weedkilled due to amounts of bindweed poking its nose out. Two row...

Tnis is a haphazard record of my two allotment plots totalling twenty rods and my back garden with its twelve foot by eight foot greenhouse. Sunday, June 28, 2009. Feeling fruity and catching up. The evening was so oppressive, weather-wise, that ended up dozing off after tea and went allotmenting around eight. Picked strawberries and raspberries, more raspberries than is decent from a few canes heeled in at random a few years ago, didn't touch the ones under netting and got two full nappy bags. Hoed all ...

Tnis is a haphazard record of my two allotment plots totalling twenty rods and my back garden with its twelve foot by eight foot greenhouse. Monday, April 19, 2010. Will try some pictures tomorrow, bit micro-blogging this. Not too sure about this widget. Test from Android widget. Emptied a compost bin into the last bit of the bean trench and put all the spoil back on top of it. Also trying out an Android widget for blogging. Sunday, April 18, 2010. Piglet's Plot in Portugal | My Michelin star garden restaurant for all bugs and critters…or a diary of my ups and downs while gardening in Portugal

Piglet's Plot in Portugal. March 23, 2013. This year I plan to photograph and record what’s growing in my humble vegetable garden on the 19th of each month. This will give me a better idea of what’s growing when, and how well. Hopefully, it will act as a record for next year and I can learn from my successes and failures. The Portuguese cabbages (Couve Galega) which I use to make Caldo Verde Soup. Are now over 2 tall. I love the way they grow skywards a great space-saving crop for a small plot. I bought ...

Thursday, 22 September 2011. Birthday day of birth. Yes it is my birthday, as the Blur band said, 'it's my birthday, no-one here day' which is very apt today as i sit alone in the library. I typed my birthday into google (of course, i am bored) and my 'birth report' appeared, i was hesitant to look thinking it may be one of those, 'when will i die? Things. Especially as I got electrocuted last night by a wire chewed through by the rabbits, and said to simon, 'what if i die? You are idealistic and must fe...

Sunday, March 8, 2015. Finally I got back my blogspot account. Well, I've forgotten the email that I was using as well as the password. So I have leave this place for more than a year huh And the hotmail account that I have stopped using, there are almost 3k emails lie in the Inbox =.=". So many things happened. I did not record it. I did not write down anything. There isn't a way for me to read back how much I have grown up. I should have written all of it. they are my memory. I want to sleep now =p.
