Monday, September 24, 2012. I think many preschool teachers focus on number recognition and if they can rote count to 5 , for example, and they can find the numeral 5, then "they know their numbers". I like to incorporate many ways of exploring a number so that students have to think critically and in different ways. 1) We use finger plays to count to 5 forward and backward (addition and subtraction). 3) We look at sets of objects and locate the sets that do and do not have 5 in them. One of my kids favs. 1 (8 ounce) package spaghetti, broken into 2-inch pieces. 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese. 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt. 1 (16 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce. 1 teaspoon dried oregano. 1/4 teaspoon dried basil. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain and cool. Beat egg in large bowl, add milk, 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese, salt and garlic salt. Stir in cooked spaghetti, mix well. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
