Monday, May 18, 2009. Dear St. Anthony. Can you help me find my sanity? As I read the title of my last blog, "Living La Vida Loca," I seriously laugh out loud. Did I really think life was crazy. Apparently now, I have hit a whole new level of "nuts" that I didn't know I had in me. Guess being ridiculously naive is a blessing sometimes! Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with the sheer number of tasks on my "to do" list that I just start laughing.out loud (see "dangerous flirtations with insanity" above&#...

Monday, November 16, 2009. Building Character. One Day at a Time. I'm feeling a little listy lately. (OK, so listy is probably not a real word. But who cares? Besides, I've discovered a real freedom in creating your own vocabulary. P.S. George W. - I get you.). Mail order and/or Happy Meal toys are junk. Banks /ATMs only give you YOUR OWN money. The food at some restaurants never tastes as good as the pictures look. No, the cashier at the store (with the candy aisle) doesn't. The "medicine" that made your...

Because we want to keep in touch. Monday, August 9, 2010. Stitches-June 30, 2010. I was in San Diego attending the SHRM. Conference. On my way home, I caught a connecting flight in Denver. I called home from the Denver airport to tell my kiddos goodnight and Hadley informed me she was in the Emergency room getting stitches! I honestly thought she was kidding me. She was so calm. Aaron finally got on the phone and told me she was telling the truth. Links to this post. Links to this post. The children all ...

Because we want to keep in touch. Saturday, July 25, 2009. Links to this post. Calgon take me away! We have all been a little under the weather lately. A few weeks ago Favorite Girl went to spend a few nights with Grandma for her very own special one on one time. Unfortunately, her first morning there she woke up with a fever of 102. We went to an Urgent Care Clinic near Grandmas and they diagnosed her with strep. Big yucky pussy tonsils. Poor Baby! Links to this post. Pretend I'm smiling right now.

Because we want to keep in touch. Tuesday, June 8, 2010. School is officially out tomorrow. Much later than normal but with all of the snow days this year here we are. Who would have thought that Nick would still be in school on June 8 th. I took a day off work for the kid's physicals and dentist appointments as well as my routine eye appointment. Unfortunately, it seems as though Nick will now have a routine eye exam too. It stinks to find out news like that but they are both easy fixes. I thank my ...

Because we want to keep in touch. Saturday, February 27, 2010. One nation under God. Hadley said mom do you know what "one nation under God means"? I said yes, it means that we are all God's people and we love each other and get along no matter what the color of our skin is or what we believe in. She said, "oh Alexis at daycare is brown but I like her". Links to this post. Hadley has a "friend" named Julie. We have not been fortunate to meet this friend but she talks about her all the time! Because we want to keep in touch. Thursday, August 27, 2009. Favorite Girl's First Day of 3-Year Old Preschool. Today (Thursday August 27, 2009) was a big milestone for my Favorite Girl. She went to preschool for one hour to meet her teacher's, find her cubbie. This little girl's independence is quite admirable. She definitely will go far in life with her can do attitude. I am so proud of her. (I hope I still feel that way when she's 14 and laying claim to her independence, we shall see). Meaning of T&A ...

Monday, January 26, 2009. Every year for the past three or four years, I've taken the kids' pictures in ". Clothes. The idea was to measure their growth from year to year by comparing how much better the clothes fit each year. To make a good comparison, I used the same article of clothing. For the girls, I chose my wedding gown. For Yogi, I chose a pair of B's jeans and a t-shirt. As a side note, I did not think this whole activity through enough. I am not sure what I'm going to do when she no longer...
