Tuesday, November 30, 2010. So apparently I have a desperate need to organize and make pretty everything in my house. Perhaps this is a way of avoiding all the real work I have to do. Today it was the bookcases. Here are some pictures of the results. It was a strange day today. I have a lot to do, but am having a great deal of trouble settling in to do it. Sunday, March 22, 2009. In Cairo at Last. Cairo is amazing at night. We got off the plane around eight and it . Took us an hour to get through customs and get our luggage and meet up. With our guide Islam Falgoul, who is a very handsome, well spoken. Our hotel is in Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo and so we got to spend. 45 minutes driving across Cairo at night I'm a fascinating trip. The. First thing we noticed was the horns. Usually Texans complain about having only two seasons: winter and dang hot, but this year we’ve had a long, absolutely glorious spring! We’ve been seeing highs only in the 70’s and some rain. In late February, when the iris are usually blooming, we actually saw snow! I’ve lived here for thirteen years and never seen a snow, so it was a pretty big deal! This path from Sennen to Botallack runs almost at sea level for much of the way - before alpine climbs in and out of long deserted mining valleys.
