I love that it's cheap, easy and super useful. All you need are cardboard boxes, scrapbook paper, spray adhesive and electrical tape. I did these a few years ago for Kaylee's room. Monday, January 30, 2012. Trunk Box - Gift for Daddy. Julian's birthday was yesterday and I wanted the kids to make him something that he would use. I was amazed at how hard it was to come up with something 1-2 year olds could make that wasn't just something to sit on the counter or hang on the wall. This was our answer. A box for his trunk to keep all the miscellany in. (Ice scrapers, flares, jumper cables, etc.). The instructions are basically the same as the storage boxes I posted last week. ( Here.

My wonderful husband was willing (read: didn't run screaming from the house) to dress up as the Man In the Yellow Hat for the kids birthday party. He's really is a good sport. :-). I think it's a pretty good likeness - I wasn't able to find the right boots though. Now, you can spend $50 on Amazon for what reviewers say is a terrible hat, or you can make one! I wasn't exactly sure how to go about doing it but it worked out. A hat to build around.
