The Tempered Optimist: Idol Worship? More like the biggest loser, pun intended
http://temperedoptimist.blogspot.com/2010/03/idol-worship-more-like-biggest-loser.html
Wednesday, March 3, 2010. More like the biggest loser, pun intended. American Idol, one of my flight from reality shows that keeps me going, has gone. Sad to report. I am thinking of sitting Shiva (a period of mourning following a death) for it. They have switched seats of the judges so many times, like that is going to make for a better show? Thank goodness Ruby is back, and Project Runway is up to speed; even Amazing Race is back and always great. Reality shows keep me from reality.hmmmm maybe I sh...

Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Motivation; Standing up for what you believe in. On the news this morning, nationally, media outlets are reporting its official: the recession is over. Unfortunately, the jobless are and will continue to be the last to feel this impact. So what to do? Keep things the same; be obstructionist to progress; vote out those members of Congress who actually worked to make change? Congress: research your representatives and senators. Let them know your thoughts. If you really bel...Thurs...

The Tempered Optimist: August 2009
http://temperedoptimist.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 31, 2009. Hate Mongers attempt to follow me on Twitter. Where are you people? Do you not have a voice? You better speak now because we are in danger of losing help we desperately need for our citzenry. I contact Maryland Congress people yesterday to tell them to make health reform happen, particularly the public option. As I said in a previous blog: managed care insurers want their say; want to make millions and billions of dollars at our health needs. We need an option! Links to this post.

The Yarn Made Me Do It. Knit Crochet. Blog. Lizzies One-Pint Blueberry Pie. McGyver Yarn Cone Holder. Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Sorry, not Titus Welliver, star of Bosch. Eponymous hero (tragic division) of one of Shakespeare's least produced plays. TITUS: Hark, villains! I will grind your bones to dust, … and make two past(r)ies of your shameful heads (Titus Andronicus, Act V, Scene iv). I've always liked an underdog, so for my first pattern for Defarge Does Shakespeare. Digital and/or print format.

The Yarn Made Me Do It. Knit Crochet. Blog. Lizzies One-Pint Blueberry Pie. McGyver Yarn Cone Holder. Friday, January 31, 2014. Not as time-consuming as all that, but still a lot of stitches. By Kaye Gardiner of Mason-Dixon Knitting. Yarn: Berocco Comfort Chunky (Acrylic/NylonBlend)in "Adirondack," 6 skeins. I knit fewer rows than called for on the ribbing section because I was sick and tired of working on it, and because it was really quite wide enough. Go visit Tami's Amis. For more FO Friday entries.

The Yarn Made Me Do It. Knit Crochet. Blog. Lizzies One-Pint Blueberry Pie. McGyver Yarn Cone Holder. Friday, March 6, 2015. It may not be as old as the "oldest original permanent floating crap game in New York," but this sweater has been on and off the needles for over two years. I love the yarn, love the color, love the pattern, so why the delay? By Anne Hanson of knitspot. Why, distractibility, of course. Falling for the lure of the quick, the small, the new. The Yarn Made Me Do It. Knit Crochet. Blog. Lizzies One-Pint Blueberry Pie. McGyver Yarn Cone Holder. Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Tamara: Thus, in this strange and sad habiliment, / I will encounter with Andronicus, / And say I am Revenge, sent from below / To join with him and right his heinous wrongs (Titus Andronicus, Act V, Scene ii). Enough with the dismemberment previously discussed. My second design for Defarge Does Shakespeare. Forming, as it does, a large part of the image structure of the play.
