El Blanco's Office 2007 Blog: March 2007
http://chrissyblanco.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
El Blanco's Office 2007 Blog. Friday, March 30, 2007. MOSS and Email in a VPC without Exchange. A colleague of mine has detailed an excellent method of setting up email within a single VPC environment without requiring exchange (as we all know exchange takes over the SMTP service, and hence MOSS can't co-exist with exchange - there are email related problems since MOSS likes the local SMTP service itself! Link out for further details. Posted by Chris White at 10:17 am. Wednesday, March 14, 2007. Hello it...

El Blanco's Office 2007 Blog. Monday, July 16, 2007. SharePoint Calculated Columns with Dates. I recently had a request to create a view on a list and group the view by the year and quarter of a particular date. i.e. the list in question has a date column, say "Start Date", and the view should be grouped by the year of the date e.g. 2007, and then by the quarter i.e. 1, 2, 3, or 4 depending on the month. The second column is called "Quarter", is of type "Number", and has the formula shown below:. GroupNa...

Stephen Kaye's SharePoint 2007 (MOSS): Applying a theme to SPLongOperation
http://stephenkaye.blogspot.com/2007/11/applying-theme-to-splongoperation.html
Stephen Kaye's SharePoint 2007 (MOSS). Friday, 30 November 2007. Applying a theme to SPLongOperation. At some point in SharePoint development you'll probably write some code that takes a long time to execute and you'll run into this fella, the SPLongOperation. Unfortunately though, you may feel let down when you run your code and the page displayed is not branded like the rest of your site. String style = @" link rel=" stylesheet" type=" text/css" href=" " currentWeb.ThemeCssUrl @" " / ";. Please tell me...

El Blanco's Office 2007 Blog: August 2007
http://chrissyblanco.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
El Blanco's Office 2007 Blog. Friday, August 31, 2007. One of the things from SPS 2003 that didn't make it into MOSS 2007 was a way, via the UI, to specify an event receiver for a document library. This seems bizarre considering the facts that you can now have multiple event receivers for a single document library, and you can now have event receivers on lists as well as document libraries. Once you've downloaded the solution you can install it as normal for SharePoint:. Or edit existing event receivers:.

Stephen Kaye's SharePoint 2007 (MOSS): Execute entire page with elevated privileges
http://stephenkaye.blogspot.com/2008/03/execute-entire-page-with-elevated.html
Stephen Kaye's SharePoint 2007 (MOSS). Monday, 31 March 2008. Execute entire page with elevated privileges. I recently tried to make an entire page run under elevated privileges (just to see if I could). The idea was to override the IHttpHandler ProcessRequest method, elevate the privileges and then continue running the page. However, I did manage to elevate the privileges of the entire page and this is how I did it. Leave a comment with your thoughts. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). How to customise...

Stephen Kaye's SharePoint 2007 (MOSS): Master the order of WebConfigModifications
http://stephenkaye.blogspot.com/2008/07/master-webconfigmodifications.html
Stephen Kaye's SharePoint 2007 (MOSS). Thursday, 17 July 2008. Master the order of WebConfigModifications. There are plenty of blogs describing WebConfigModifications so I'm just going to stress what I feel are the two most important properties on the WebConfigModifications class. The name and the path. There are plenty of descriptions of these properties but the most important thing to note is that when combined they form the xpath used to locate the node on which to operate. It would always appear.

Stephen Kaye's SharePoint 2007 (MOSS): Form Digest and SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges
http://stephenkaye.blogspot.com/2008/03/form-digest-and-spsecurityrunwithelevat.html
Stephen Kaye's SharePoint 2007 (MOSS). Monday, 31 March 2008. Form Digest and SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges. A colleague of mine recently had an issue when running code using SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges. The SPWeb's AllowUnsafeUpdates attribute had been set to true but an error was still occuring when calling methods that checked the FormDigest of the current page. I found an article that said the answer to this is to disable the FormDigest settings on the web application using. Also for ...
