The last time I was there I was 15 and don’t really remember much. It was a family holiday but I was able to combine that with some birding etc. One of the most enjoyable places we went was to the Cairns Esplanade. Between eating, playing in the house and being bullied by his mate, he’s a healthy, happy, regular bird. One day after Gilligan crashed into a glass door i noticed an unusual shaking and favouring of his left wing. It has taken Gilligan four days to fully recover and be able to fly again. It wasn’t an early, early chrissy prezzy or an early birthday presant, but i was gobsmacked, and delighted when mum and my sister pulled out a cheeping box! Yes they are cute, fuzzy AND they’re only one day old! And if my calculations are correct this will be the sixth batch of chicks we have hand reared- mind you, one batch we hatched 15 chicks from eggs!
