(See the previous post. For more information about the training.) Here are some of my reflections on the course:. There’s nothing you can’t teach without some cut up pieces of paper and a pen. Pre-made materials were often more trouble than they were worth. Teaching 1-1 for a whole day is very tiring, for both the student and me.

My teaching schedule for the past year and a half has been a LOT less busy than it was when I was working in the UK. But starting on Monday, for 6 hours a day, 6 days a week, for 4 weeks, back I’ll be in the classroom. But I’m also (worryingly) calm. We have NO IDEA of the level of the students. Recently I went to Addis for a 60 hours of instruction, over two weeks. Here’s what I was reminded of as I sat in the classroom on the student side for a change. 8211; Every student has a different need! We wanted to learn different things, and knew different things already from each other. The same as using the language in the real world.
