My Games of 2014 - Realigning the Azimuth
http://rob-caporetto.com/blog/2014/12/23/my-games-of-2014
My Games of 2014. Comparing 2014 to 2013. Is certainly an interesting exercise by comparison. Compared to last year, there weren’t as much AAA calibre games played - mainly as a result of two factors: the first being the channel. And the workload in working on retro gameplay/LP videos, and secondly, my circumstances with regard to work meaning less time to sit in front of a console and play games there. Attempt to go through it and score as high as possible. All of that danger, and for what? Nothing̵...

Looking to the Future - Conclusions - Realigning the Azimuth

Looking to the Future - Conclusions. I’ve been sitting on this final piece in my Looking to the Future. Series for quick a long period of time. In fact, I feel I’ve been doing so as I’ve not wanted to live up to the fact that well, I’m basically unsuited for indie life in any serious matter. I originally started this series after being asked about my indie experiences for a piece which went up. About the immense piracy that happened with Pocket Dogfights. On its release there). As a hobby concern, there ...

Looking to the Future - But Where? - Realigning the Azimuth
http://rob-caporetto.com/blog/2014/03/21/looking-to-the-future-but-where
Looking to the Future - but Where? This post is the third in a short series in which I’m publicly reflecting on where I want to try to be heading as an indie developer. If you happen to be interested in the series and my goals for it, you can read the introduction here. I’ve basically established who I am, and what I consider my values in terms of games development. The next question is working out where. Where are the platforms that are going to work best with what I want to accomplish? Which I guess br...

Looking to the Future - Realigning the Azimuth

Looking to the Future. Around this time a year ago, I got the email which filled me with both excitement. The email indicating that the iOS build of Pocket Dogfights. Was approved and that after finalising tax stuff, I could schedule it’s release and watch as the first project I’d released in 4 years under my own name go live for everyone to enjoy. I’ve been thinking about it quite a bit as of late, in particular with GDC. You can check out the rest of the posts in the series from the articles below:.

Things I Learned in the Past Week - Realigning the Azimuth
http://rob-caporetto.com/blog/2014/11/07/things-i-learned-in-the-past-week
Things I Learned in the Past Week. It’s funny thinking about the last week. From both an. Standpoint, as well as from a developer-ish standpoint. I guess, when I think about it, with the vast majority of my time this year being spent on delivery and support of a project which was purely a doing-it-for-the-money exercise, I guess it wasn’t entirely feasible to be thinking of my own projects until more recently. And the large numbers of developers and friends which it brought out into place. Despite prior ...
