This has been an amazing experience, not like any other time that I’ve lived abroad before, and I have learned, seen and done so much in the past 8 1/2 months. Just another WordPress.com weblog. May 12, 2010. My roommate Sofy took me home with her twice over the past month. Sofy lives in Sakhnin, an Arab town in the Galilee, about a 3 hour train ride north, near Akko. It is a really sweet little town, in the hills (as most Arab towns are in the hills) with about 20,000 people, many of whom Sofy is related to (we couldn’t walk 10 feet without meeting a cousin or uncle).
