The Poetry of Rob Radcliffe. Poetry of Rob Radcliffe. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. March 3, 2013. Twigs twist and crunch underfoot. In this push pull with gravity,. Body borrowing oxygen, feet flying,. Lungs gulping to the drum of heart. In this world of earth and trees. Where sun drifts down to reflect. On a mind as still as winter water. Legs, lungs, heart say stop, stop,. But mind nods to sun, earth, trees,. This motion, light this urgent, precious life. April 3, 2012. Seeing as...

The Poetry of Rob Radcliffe. Poetry of Rob Radcliffe. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Category Archives: Katie G. Listen – by Katie G. January 22, 2011. Seeing as I am busy with lots of things at the moment, I have decided to open up my blog to some very special friends, and will be publishing some of their poems in coming months, as I think they produce some amazing work that deserves whatever little outlet I can offer. I certainly hope to publish some more of my own in due course.

The Poetry of Rob Radcliffe. Poetry of Rob Radcliffe. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. January 31, 2011. Had this one in hiding for sometime, thought it was worth an airing…. Tight as whelks that suck on rock,. Hands locked like limpets,. They stroll in the wet dark. Sides touching, flank to flank,. Breaths flowing as one breath,. As their feet fall into step. Mingling with the merely single. They sprout one umbrella not two,. A jellyfish cast on the seashore,. In the wet and dark they.

I was not really going to publish them on my poetry blog (which has been neglected of late) but I showed one to somebody and they said other people might appreciate them, as there appear to be stock funeral poems that people always use, and these were a little different, so maybe people might be able to use them in some way.

Lyric Poetry Showcase: The Riding Man

http://lyricpoetry.blogspot.com/2013/09/the-riding-man.html

Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Of a young man, attempting. To ride a horse. His pose is strained, half. Crouched in the saddle, painfully. Aware of being observed. I am told, by those. That should know, that. This is me at twenty-three. But since then every. Cell in this fragile human. Form has been altered by. And if the self is an. Emergent property of time. And 'I' am only 'I' through the. Fitful experience, then between. The one who rides and the. One who turns the paper. In transient hands, there.

Lyric Poetry Showcase: Spring

http://lyricpoetry.blogspot.com/2011/11/spring.html

Sunday, November 13, 2011. Look out for Spring,. The life underground,. The thawing and the overflow. Oh early, early in the morning. Seven shades of green. Are painted on your door,. Painted on your door,. The field alive under the snow. Oh early, early in the morning. Oh world of rooftops,. Hearing one field song. The walk in raincoats,. The wait for Easter, Tom. We are awake or waking,. Awake or waking from. Here that day comes. My room in the trees. Last lyric by this artist. Suggest a Dylan lyric.

Lyric Poetry Showcase: Rock poetry

http://lyricpoetry.blogspot.com/2012/07/rock-poetry.html

Sunday, July 15, 2012. Among all rock groups, the Moody Blues regarded themselves as poets. The band's spin off group, the Blue Jays had a similar approach to writing. I Dreamed Last Night. Is a fine example of their writing and has superb lyrical composition - but does it stand as a poem? As a song it appeals to universal themes of longing and lost love - but is the writer telling his own story or is it merely a collection of disjoined thoughts and convenient rhymes? Left me no choice. Don't be afraid,.

Lyric Poetry Showcase: Park and ride

http://lyricpoetry.blogspot.com/2011/11/park-and-ride.html

Saturday, November 12, 2011. Railway I think of Betjeman. Rhapsodist of suburban dreams. Where golden ochred autumn trees. Here I'm a ghost whose journey's past. Parallel lives I might have chanced. Hanging, like prunes, from every branch. Hillingdon, Northwood, Amersham,. Emptied now of aunts, friends, gran,. Echo with part-remembered plans. Past Harrow, men play ball on a field. A wasteland has brambles and a horse. Near Ickenham an old house in a park. A crumbling Middle Saxon manor. Tom Rudge, Devon.

Lyric Poetry Showcase: Suggest a Dylan lyric..

http://lyricpoetry.blogspot.com/2011/11/suggest-dylan-lyric.html

Sunday, November 20, 2011. Suggest a Dylan lyric. I've been trying to find an appropriate Bob Dylan lyric - words that stand out on the page as a poem in their own right. Dylan is meant to be the great lyricist, the contemporary song writer about whom dissertations have been written. Indeed sometimes he wrote poetry without songs - although unlike Leonard Cohen he was not a poet first and foremost. I confess - I have found the search difficult. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wednesday, March 01, 2006. If I could have just one wish,. I would wish to wake up everyday. To the sound of your breath on my neck,. The warmth of your lips on my cheek,. The touch of your fingers on my skin, and the feel of your heart beating with mine. Knowing that I could never find that feeling. With anyone other than you. Posted by Tanu at 8:18 PM.
