Work restarts after the Foot and Mouth Crisis at last. Temporary gates have been placed across the trackbed to protect it from animals. Gates have been used instead of fences, so as not to block the footpath. And the scrap just keeps coming. Christmas 2001, and kissing gates are installed for the footpath. Oct 04, Ballasting.

This will be the location of a temporary loop, and the end of phase 1 of the extension. The second cattle creep will eventually go in here, for access from FarmYard Farm. October 2003, and the haul Rd reaches the field. Building of the Farmers road, part of the mitigation for the railway. November 03, and the Farmers Road is almost complete. Traeth Mawr loop foundations start to take shape November 03. New Year 2003/4, and the ballast starts going down. Weekend 17/18th Jan 2004. May/June 2006, Tracklaying.
