Born in Chicago Tom Lavin and his brother Jack grew up surrounded by the great Blues artists in that city especially in the Maxwell Street Market where they frequently caught acts like Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, B.B. King, Albert Collins, James Cotton and Stevie Ray Vaughan - artists they would later tour with and open for! Uncut eventually went double platinum - unheard of for a Blues album, particularly a Canadian one.
