June 29, 2011 – Final Route Approved. The Kansas Corporation Commission approved the route for Prairie Wind Transmission’s portion of the Y-Plan. The commission accepted the route recommended by Prairie Wind Transmission with minor changes to include some alternative route segments suggested by landowners. The project will include two 345-kV lines on a shared set of poles from Wichita to Medicine Lodge and then to the Kansas/Oklahoma border. Kansas Corporation Commission Approved Route.
