Who am I? Don't Know!: A Tiger, a Vine, a Mouse and a Strawberry
http://tracileadstrom.blogspot.com/2012/03/tiger-vine-some-mice-and-strawberry.html
A simple blog about a complicated life. Wednesday, March 7, 2012. A Tiger, a Vine, a Mouse and a Strawberry. Here is one of my favorite zen stories. One day while walking through the wilderness a man stumbled upon a vicious tiger. He ran but soon came to the edge of a high cliff. Desperate to save himself, he climbed down a vine and dangled over the fatal precipice. As he hung there, two mice appeared from a hole in the cliff and began gnawing on the vine. This pain accompanies growth. It is the breaking down and repairing of the fibers because I simply haven’t used them in far too long. I know that this is the pain that I can remedy with stretching and a decent warm-up and that I can push through it to help my body get back in shape. I’m certainly no expert on grieving o...

Who am I? Don't Know!: In the fright of Twilight
http://tracileadstrom.blogspot.com/2014/10/in-fright-of-twilight.html
A simple blog about a complicated life. Wednesday, October 1, 2014. In the fright of Twilight. In the fright of twilight the sun always appears". I don't know who wrote this nor do I remember when I heard it but I remembered it this morning. At about the same time this evening twilight will come again, then sunset. The sky will slowly and beautifully turn dark and the blackness will return. This is for certain. And, so will my grief. And, tomorrow, the sun will break through twilight. Leah and Ava Austin.

http://tallgrasszen.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
The cyber gathering ground of the Tallgrass Zen Center. Saturday, August 17, 2013. It’s harder to accept the impermanence of the self even as an idea let alone an absolute fact. But we too are comprised of heaps of stuff, not sand, but what the Buddha called skandhas. Lit heaps): form, feelings, perceptions, impulses, and consciousness. When the Buddha woke up he is reported to have said something like. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Welcome to Tallgrass Zen. To Manhattan, Kansas and the...
