Jamaican Adventure: August 2008
http://eliseinjamaica.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Essentially I am rambling about nothing for the most part. But I generally think that it is interesting! Saturday, August 30, 2008. I want to move. Well, Gustav came.and went. We are all a little soggy for it. The power was on and off for a few days and apparently the tap water will not be drinkable for another week. But all in all we came through pretty well. As nice as Mrs. Ridgard's guesthouse is, I want to actually unpack. There is not much to do though, except wait.and wait. Thursday, August 28, 2008.

Thursday, November 13, 2008. माय रंदोम इन्तेराक्टिओंस अक माय सोशल लाइफ इन जमैका. It is true that my random interactions are sort of wierd, but I actually find that these are some of the things that I like most about Jamaica. So I thought I would write about them. I won't do it all at once, but this is a sample:. We talk sometimes about the weather;...

Jamaican Adventure: No adventures lately!
http://eliseinjamaica.blogspot.com/2008/11/no-adventures-lately.html
Essentially I am rambling about nothing for the most part. But I generally think that it is interesting! Tuesday, November 11, 2008. 1) Family and Friends (this is a given). 2) Coffee Shops – to go read in when I am bored, to meet people in, to hang out in with friends. 3) Cool weather. It is November and I am still sweating through my clothes. 4) Going out at night – for a run, a walk, a trip to the store, or just about anything. That is all for now it is good to write it down…. Keep your chin up! I'm s...

Jamaican Adventure: Re-jointing oneself? My arm and other stuff
http://eliseinjamaica.blogspot.com/2009/01/re-jointing-oneself-my-arm-and-other.html
Essentially I am rambling about nothing for the most part. But I generally think that it is interesting! Monday, January 19, 2009. My arm and other stuff. Continuing on from my last post, I was saying that I feel a little out of it being back here. Realizing that I have a limited amount of time here makes it hard to buckle down to work and since the pace of work here is quite slow I find that I have a large amount of down time in which to dwell and anticipate the future. No, I think not. So I came back, ...

Even though I stayed up late and was going on 4 hours of sleep. But watching Obama's speech was worth it. Something happened last night that was good for the world. AFRICA PART TWO: JOZI
http://roannainsouthafrica.blogspot.com/2008/12/jozi.html
Thursday, December 18, 2008. Of all the places in South Africa, before coming here, I was most intimidated by Johannesburg. I had heard awful stories about rape (people sleep in. Muggings (in broad daylight! Carjackings (people don’t stop at red lights! And other violent crimes. I even routed my flights through Cape Town to avoid the Joburg airport. I headed to Joburg for a long weekend including Reconciliation Day (December 16). What a shock to be in the big city again! A highlight was meeting. There is...
