Wednesday, November 30, 2011. The past two months. 9/14/11- Dad went to the doctor because he had been tired and had a slight cough. She gave him Z-pack antibiotics and he got his blood taken. They called that same day to tell him that he was extremely anemic. (8.3.Men are supposed to be 15) She scheduled a colonoscopy. For the next week. 9/19/11-Dad called the doctor's office to tell him he still had the cough. The doctor sent him in for a chest x-ray to make sure he didn't have pneumonia. As soon as po...

Friday, December 2, 2011. Our precious Daddy went home to be with the Lord at 11:15 pm tonight. Our hearts hurt so much and we already miss him lots. We all were able to express our love to him and were there for his last breaths. He was such a good Daddy! We'll update tomorrow as we get all the information. Friday, December 2, 2011. I also wanted to let you know that we have the most amazing nurses. We have come to know so many of them in this last month and they truly do care about our Dad. It actually brings tears to my eyes to know how much they care. We truly are blessed! Many of them stop in and say hi to Dad even when he is not one of their patients. It really does make the hospital stay more manageable! Pneumonia to be gone. Swelling in his legs to go down. Continue to sleep and for it to be restful.

Sunday, September 11, 2016. DJ's Continued Journey 6 years post surgery. Family night at the Rivera's, pizza, movies and ICE CREAM! DJ is now 11 years old and in the 5th grade. He is very excited to be back in school. This week he was very proud to show me some of his classwork, all A's! DJ has been trying to read every night, his new book is Divergent.
