All posts by stewpenguin. Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE. August 22, 2016. Straight up, I think the main reason I wanted to get this game was the use of colour. I’m not really much for J-Pop, and I loved Fire Emblem Awakening, but really… just the header image shows how colourful this game is. It might be the fledgling graphic designer in me, but the more I saw of this game, the more I loved the colour. Anyway, let’s talk about things other than colour for a bit. All of this sounds overpowered, and in the smal...

Game-a-week | Stew Review

June on Stew Review. June 4, 2016. So since last time, I’ve finished my first trimester of my Graphic Design diploma! Sadly, this has meant games and Stew Review have taken a backseat to being an adult and doing things. I’ve been playing Overwatch almost non-stop since it’s come out, with a few chapters of Fire Emblem Fates in between. Anyway, what’s on the horizon in June? Mirror’s Edge is pretty high on my list for hype, with the original being one of my top 3 all-time favourites! January 3, 2016.

Game-a-Week #30 – Kid Icarus: Uprising. July 28, 2015. Been a stressful couple of weeks, so apologies for the lack of updates! I’ve had this game sitting around for a while now, and I enjoyed what I have played of it. I know it’s a bit of a controversial title, but eh, I’ll form my own opinion! Game-a-Week #29 – Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition. Game-a-Week #31 – Kirby and The Amazing Mirror. One thought on “Game-a-Week #30 – Kid Icarus: Uprising”. July 28, 2015 at 3:55 pm.

kirby | Stew Review

July 24, 2016. Kirby has always been great for some straight forward, energetic fun when you just feel like a game that doesn’t fight against you. And while the more modern instalments in the Kirby franchise do make heavy use of some sort of gimmick, they rarely get in the way of the core of what makes a Kirby game, generally adding on the classic formula in some unique way. This time, it’s robots. The out-of-suit moments are also great, but not too different from Kirby games in the past. A lot of me...

Game-a-Week #32 – Magicka 2 | Stew Review
https://stewreview.net/2015/08/10/game-a-week-32-magicka-2
Game-a-Week #32 – Magicka 2. August 10, 2015. I never got terribly far in the first one, and I could argue that I should play that one first… but I bought this while it was on sale on the PS4, so I feel compelled to play it more! I’m always a sucker for elemental based things, it’s why I’m such a huge fan of Bionicle, Avatar (the good one), and why I’ve been wanting to try this game since forever. It’s a co-op game, so if anyone wants to join me, shoot me an invite! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Game-a-Week #27 – Batman: Arkham Knight | Stew Review
https://stewreview.net/2015/07/05/game-a-week-27-batman-arkham-knight
Game-a-Week #27 – Batman: Arkham Knight. July 5, 2015. I loved the other Arkham games to bits, so Knight was one of the few AAA games I’ve been dying for this year. I’ve already played a fair bit of the start of the game, because I was so excited to get stuck into it. But still a fair way to go! I loved Yoshi’s Woolly World, but I still have yet to fully complete it… the game is surprisingly hard! Here’s hoping I can write down a few of my thoughts later in the week! And maybe another poll…?

Category Archives: Stew Review. May on Stew Review. May 1, 2016. This month’s post was originally designed entirely around Mirror’s Edge, but after that got delayed to June… Well, I can’t complain, can I? Fire Emblem Fates finally hits, and I just cannot wait! The only other exciting thing for me this month is Doom, and even then, the close it gets, the more I’m not feeling it. But hey, I’m keen to be surprised! After playing the Overwatch open beta, I am really, really excited to play more. June 28, 2015.

Game-a-Week #29 – Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition. July 20, 2015. I own way too many copies of this game, so in an attempt to make sure the money I’ve spent on them is actually not wasted, I’m gonna finish one of them! Expect a poll sometime this week, and an update on the progress towards the next Gold Mario amiibo giveaway! Game-a-Week #28 – Kirby’s Dream Land 3. Game-a-Week #30 – Kid Icarus: Uprising.
