It is happening much faster than I would like. They are continually examining themselves for more hair, more muscle, more manliness. Vootz in particular is pretty impressed with his height of five feet-two inches. He takes great pleasure in being taller than his aunt who stands. You're almost a man!

Wednesday, December 30, 2009. So long 2009. Moving on to 2010. This past year was eventful and lots of 'firsts' for us. Jonathan started pre-school in August. He is doing very well in the school setting. He has good days and bad days but generally looks forward to going to school. He has learned about the planets and continuously reminds us that Jupiter is a planet and it is the biggest. He also likes to remind us that we live on planet Earth (very helpful). Tuesday, September 4, 2012. The day after the 4th of July, we packed up for a day trip to Mt. Lassen. We made a couple of stops in the park: the Sulfer Pots, Bumpass Hell (3 mile hike in snow slush). Sophie was sick this day and made it known to all at the visitor's center while we were watching a video on volcanoes. She threw up all over Steve. Luckily, there are t-shirts for sell in the visitor's center. Yay! We all hiked, except for Sophie, who rode on mom's and dad's shoulders (mostly dad's).
