Thoughts on the road to ……. Running Home →. June 28, 2014. Toby keeping it cool. Both boat and crew handled it admirably, and felt very proud to endure 8 hours of hard work beating into wind. Yet when we looked on the map, 33 miles of sailing only led to 14 miles of progress, and Mark and Peter both agreed we’d done enough for the day. Toby was already at that decision 6 hours before. Even baby Gulls are cute. Mark shampooing with Gull poo. Boat cleaning crew trying to look professional. You are commenti...

Thoughts on the road to ……. Newer posts →. June 25, 2016. The sun sets on another great day of sailing. It was bound to happen that Mark and Peter devolved into discussions about whose version of the “Big Picture” was correct, or at least more accurate. All of our thoughts return to ...

Thoughts on the road to ……. We come to the end of this chapter →. July 1, 2014. Judicious planning is important, but sometimes you just get lucky. Mark admits that Peter has been doing a great job planning routes, and navigating departure/arrival destinations in-line with dicey weather. And Toby appreciates the moderating effect this has had on his Dad’s usually overzealous application of too much sail. Toby defying gravity as we scream to the Atlantic. Mark finally gets to the Atlantic. Oblivious to the...
