Professor Pope: February 2012
http://professorpope.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
A gaming and setting design blog. I guess I took February off. It was unintentional. Just caught up in life and trying to figure out how, when, and where to spend my Social Media Time. I am not sure I've really figured out the later, but will be back to posting some gaming related stuff here in March. Here's a quick rundown of a few gaming happenings in my world:. I participated in North Carolina game day. I bought the PDF of Adventurer, Conqueror, King. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Campaigns I Have Played.
Professor Pope: Weyland, or The Western Barony: Introduction
http://professorpope.blogspot.com/2014/07/weyland-or-western-barony-introduction.html
A gaming and setting design blog. Weyland, or The Western Barony: Introduction. Rugged mountains hiding deep dwarven ruins. Grassy plains populated by wild horses. Worn hills where creeks empty into deep, still pools. Shady forests of oak, hiding forgotten settlements. Chalky desert where bones erode under the incessant wind. Broken lands which hide those who don’t want to be found. This is The Western Barony. It’s mythic Texas meets The Dark Towe. R meets Blood Meridian. View my complete profile. A Rust...
Professor Pope: June 2011
http://professorpope.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
A gaming and setting design blog. I found this amusing. Wouldn't it be wonderful if all things were this bad? Background, part 1: I used to be a huge fan of internet sports columnist Bill Simmons. His new ESPN affiliated website talks about sports and pop culture, occasionally at the same time. Background, part 2: I occasionally enjoy reading Chuck Klosterman. Pat on the back after writing them. Anyway, Klosterman now writes for Grantland. I was particularly struck by this part:. Then there is the wonder...

A gaming and setting design blog. Why Less is More - My Pathfinder Character Dilemma. I'm currently playing in the serpent's skull adventure path and having a lot of fun. My group is solid, the adventure is a nice blend of mystery, exploration, and combat, and the DM does a great job. We've just completed the first book of the AP and are currently gearing up for a trek into the Mwangi Expanse. Now, let me tell you about my character. . . Is this slight of hand? The party has a fighter, cleric, paladin, a...

Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Book Review - Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. By Suzanne Collins, which is the second book in. The Hunger Games Trilogy,. And I really enjoyed it. I read the first book earlier this year and was just now able to get to the second book. Was very hard to put down once I really got into the book. However, it did seem to start a little slower than I remember the first book starting. I believe I was around 10% to 12% of. Overall, I have to give this book five out of five bear paws!

Old School Hack

Trying to capture that sweet spot in a new way. Who’s doing this? A table-top roleplaying system that's a hack of a hack of the original Red Box version of a certain popular hack-and-slash fantasy game. That's a lot of hacking. At 10:33 am. Filed under: Announcements. The great thing about fan awards is that really the award belongs to the fans. You guys have been great, and I can’t thank you enough. In a lot of ways many of you are not just fans, too, but co-creators of the game. You’ll be pleased...

The components of the armor are as follows:. 1 belt of truth. 2 breastplate of righteousness. 3 shield of faith. 4 shoes of the gospel.

Saturday, April 4, 2015. How to Teach Kids About Processing and Handling Their Emotions. First we had a Time Out chair. Then we nixed the idea of punishments altogether and began leaning towards effective gentle discipline- which led to the Calm Couch. And now we have this: The Safe Place. We call it the Safe Place because it's the one place in our house where our kids can go if they are dealing with difficult emotions and safely process them with the help of the visual and tangible aids I placed there.
