Socially Augmenting Twitter Profiles with Lists | PROJ 89
https://proj89.wordpress.com/2009/11/13/socially-augmenting-twitter-profiles-with-lists
Socially Augmenting Twitter Profiles with Lists. After adding lists to the hourly press as low-level abstraction. I had some time to reflect upon lists more, and what their value is. A few examples from chatting with Lyn. Don’t read his bio – the quickest way to see who this guy is, is by looking at the lists he’s on. And, jokingly,. You should call her up and ask if she thought anyone was missing from her “smart and talented” list. This started to remind me of my experiences with person tagging. With wh...

Archive for December, 2009. I was a philosophy major, and so when I’m not hacking I sometimes muse about the underpinnings behind what I’m working on. Well, rarely are they so rich as with my current work. Here’s some recent thoughts:. There are several reasons for choosing representative democracy over direct, or pure. All of these decisions have the same character: delegation. By delegating someone, you enable them to make decisions on your behalf. In order to be able to delegate, you need to t...That ...
The Demise of the Proj89 Warehouse | PROJ 89
https://proj89.wordpress.com/2010/01/05/the-demise-of-the-proj89-warehouse
The Demise of the Proj89 Warehouse. There was a warehouse here in the Dogpatch district of San Francisco where I live/work. It looked like it had long since been abandoned, and they started tearing it down to make room for a new UCSF hospital. It said “PROJ.89” on the side. That’s where I got the name for this blog (yay! I almost took the sign, but it was huge and on rotting wood, so I let that go. Anyway, I was walking by as they took down the last standing bit of the warehouse:. Feed for this Entry.

June | 2006 | PROJ 89
https://proj89.wordpress.com/2006/06
Archive for June, 2006. I’ve been giving some thought to parsing microformats. Lately. A few threads seem to be converging…. The first is that it’s hard to parse microformats. You can hand-write a parser in a little bit of time that’s 80% right. But getting all of the hcard rules. Eg, encoded is tricky. It’s reasonable to assume, therefore, that there are a lot of 80% parsers out there like the one I wrote. For my Ray Ozzie Clipboard example. The second issue relates to hatom. When I bumped into Brian.

Coffee Roasteries and Cafes. The Electric Car is for Real. April 8, 2010. The Tesla Roadster Sport - really, theres nothing like it. Here’s a non-traditional Medicine Think entry, but I wanted to share my first drive of an all-electric car – the Tesla Roadster Sport. So, what is it about the Tesla that makes it feel so futuristic? It’s a different driving experience than you’ve ever had. The only similarity is that there are four tires, the car looks like a Lotus Elise. There’s no engine noise. Honestly,...

Creating Healthcare Change Through Redefining the Patient

Coffee Roasteries and Cafes. July 15, 2010. Have we been lulled to accept this as the typical patient relationship with healthcare? Last month I attended the Microsoft. Conference in Bellevue, WA. It was an interesting conference because although there is close to $20B in ARRA stimulus dollars to be chased for electronic health records. EHRs) and health information exchange. To me it seems all a bit funny and odd. What does it even mean to be a consumer in healthcare? I completely agree with the concept ...

Coffee Roasteries and Cafes. Coffee Roasteries and Cafes. On top. Not only that, but many of these are recent entrepreneur success stories – small roasters starting out among a sea of big players with deep pockets. Here are some of my favorites. But that won’t stop me from getting a latte or two in the meantime! March 3, 2016 at 12:18 am. I like thi...

Ok, I’ll say something about the iPad. I don’t have an iPad, or any immediate plans to get one, but I have been reading the usual articles since it came out.
